So, who is Breonna Taylor and why is the WNBA dedicating its season to her?

Here's what she was not - a victim of racist cops deliberately gunning her down in her own apartment.

Breonna Taylor was the victim of several things:

• her continuing friendship with a drug-dealing ex-boyfriend
• allowing her drug-dealing ex-boyfriend to receive mail at her apartment - even after they broke up
• her new boyfriend's fear of her drug-dealing ex-boyfriend and his associates
• Louisville police recklessly bringing massive firepower to bear in a small apartment
• her new boyfriend choosing to grab his (legal) gun when he thought the pounding on the door was her drug-dealing ex-boyfriend, instead of calling 911
• her new boyfriend choosing to open fire immediately without having ascertained the identity of those banging on the door
• the police failing to identify themselves quickly and clearly

Louisville police even attempted to execute the no-knock warrant with a knock on the door, but received no answer because Breonna's boyfriend thought the people pounding on her door at that hour were her ex-boyfriend's associates and chose to arm himself instead of verifying who was knocking on the door or calling 911.

The new boyfriend opened fire immediately when the police breached the door and wounded a police officer. He was indicted on attempted murder of a police officer, but the charges were later dropped.

The Louisville City Council banned no-knock warrants in the wake of the Taylor shooting, understanding that the execution of these warrants, and not systemic racism, was the root cause of this tragedy.

"Say her name" makes a great rallying slogan for BLM and the WNBA, but the racism narrative behind it is a lie.

She seems nice. Probably just wanted to meet Tom Cruise. Also a fan of the Castro brothers.

I’m just as worried about the debt as ever, but I’ve come to the sad conclusion that nothing will be done until our hand is forced by something catastrophic. Fair chance that will happen this decade, but who knows? People have been talking debt catastrophe for my entire lifetime and so far nothing. I wish that meant that debt catastrophe will never come, but I have my doubts.
