"Are you going to put the tree up yourself?"
"No, I was thinking in the living room."

Recipe:
- Sturdy ornaments made of cloth or Styrofoam, with large plastic hooks, easily and safely manipulated by tiny hands.
- Snacks, toys, and videos to occupy the kidoodles when they get bored, which is likely.
Result:
- The lower 18 inches of the tree will be decorated by the little ones, while the grownups will handle the upper reaches. The dividing line will be obvious (and amusing) to all.
- It will be the best Christmas tree you ever had.

From October:
"Why Many White Men Love Trump’s Coronavirus Response: More than 80 percent of Republicans think the president is doing a great job with the pandemic. Here’s why."

(It's not as long as some Atlantic articles.)

It's a bit condescending, as it starts out with an assumption of racism on the part of white men and white supremacy on the part of society, but it's an interesting article.
This harkens back to the City Journal article on the red-blue divide on risk I linked to a few threads back.
Conservatives are less risk-averse in financial and personal matters than liberals. Liberals tend to stress community safety over individual freedom. There's room for both in a society, but a balance has to be struck.

I wasn't feeling sick enough about my finances so I took a peek at the Mansion Global website.
Dave Brubeck's Connecticut home is for sale and it's all the mid-century cocktails 'n briar pipes amidst Norwegian modern you'd expect it to be.
All for a paltry $2.75M and oozing way more character than any modern mega-mansion.
The kitchen looks like a metal cabinet nightmare, but the living room makes up for everything.
Still can't post a link. C'est la 2020.

That sounds disgusting! What is this? A Jeffrey Dahmer Christmas?
