Exactly. He'll go to his grave smug in the knowledge that he proposed to a compliant Congress and signed into law all those Lefty fantasies - not a one of which was built on a strong enough foundation to survive a Republican president or an outbreak of common sense.

That's maybe optimistic. Republicans don't actually hack at budgets & programs the way they ought. Republicans and Democrats both take authority from pulling the levers of regulation and government intrusion.

And, um, an outbreak of common sense is not to be feared.
