One could say Cuomo doesn't deserve "presumption of innocence bc he has argued against it for other people. ...But if we waive important principles for those who have a tenuous commitment to them, the effect is to weaken those principles for everyone. Even hypocrites have rights." https://t.co/rPvbGe2Pfd

Seriously. In addition to a Cuomo perp-walk, let's see these other miscreants join him.
The fuck.

Harvey Weinstein's former personal assistant Leslye Headland has a plumb job with Lucas Film.

A few predictions to keep track of.
First off, he is a democrat in blue New York; so there will be no resignation.
Second, he will make some kind of non-apology and hope for everything to blow over after a few weeks (as it always does in short attention span media).
Third, he is trying to work a deal with the legislators to not impeach in return for a promise not to run for governor again. If the NY congress agrees to this sham offer Cuomo will "reevaluate his situation" as the election approaches. He will then claim to be duly rehabilitate and try for another term. Whether of not he is successful will depend on the stupidity of the liberal voters of New York.

For the record, this seems unlikely to be a problem within the Lucas household.

Conspiracy theorists might say someone is clearing the tracks for Kamala in 2024 or for themselves in 2022.
When Cuomo was the media's COVID darling, he was a viable candidate for the Dem nomination in 2024. With this revelation by the NY Attorney General, a Harris ally, his national political viability has cratered. Even the media, who provided cover for his inept COVID handling, can't save him on this one and, like sharks, are circling for the kill.
This, along with Newsom's struggles in California, means the Dems may lack another big name candidate viable for 2024. Biden's age-related mental issues will cast shadows on a Sanders or Warren run. Harris may be all they have by then.
Another possibility is that Letitia James is clearing the field for herself. The NY gubernatorial election is in 2022. Letitia James, NY Attorney General, releases a report accusing Cuomo of sexual harassment of 11 women just as the 2022 campaign season is warming up. James has, of late, made quite a splash for herself recently with two big game hunts: Cuomo and Trump.

LucasFilm is part of Disney now. Headland's helming the new "female-centric" Star Wars television project for Disney+, The Acolyte.
I doubt the Lucas household will be involved with this project. Lucas gave up control of the franchise with the Disney acquisition.
She got ahead by, at the least, looking the other way for Weinstein. She's probably high enough in the food chain now that she has power of her own now. Whether this self-professed lesbian feminist will look the other way for high-ranking predators in the Disney org remains to be seen.

Reminds me of Robin Williams joking about Thunderbird wine, "Vintage? Last week. Here, smell the lid."
That joke didn't age well either since Gallo rebooted the Thunderbird brand. I haven't tried the new edition, so I can't comment on it. Never tried the old one either, but any wine specifically marketed toward winos, bums, and recently released prisoners can't be good.

"Thunderbird wine, "Vintage? Last week. Here, smell the lid.""
Conan, the kids at school used to say, "what's the word? Thunderbird! What's the price? Forty, twice!"
Back in the day, a pint was $0.80. None for me, thanks, I'm drivin'!
Crid, I couldn't believe it! Resigned today, takes effect in 14 days! WooHOO!

Dear God man, such optimism. Abject dementia doesn't seem to hinder those people, no matter how old or young.
I kind of wonder if Kaplan's scalp (above), and the reputations of others yesterday, were what made the resignation happen.
The Dem (or Rep) machine will roll with abject wretchedness+, as long as your tumors are your own. But when you go metastatic and start taking down other resources....

Well, creepy things do grow in the shade.
Seriously, though, it's possible Reagan was suffering from the beginnings of dementia at the end of his second term, but he was still an effective president. As such, the possibility of dementia affecting Biden probably didn't register with most voters.
Now, as they see him struggling to remember simple things, voters will be reminded that leaving office at the beginning of dementia is not the same as taking office then. On the other hand,

Cuomo, today:
1. I didn't harass anyone when I put my hands on them without permission.
2. I didn't get a fair hearing.
3. The media and twitter weaponized this against me.
4. This is a distraction.
5. Therefore I am resigning effective in 14 days.

Cuomo may not deserve a presumption of innocence, but we need the system to give it to him anyway. The burden of proof should always be on the state and the verdict should rest on the evidence.
