1 Plague of ants on couch. Adorbs dog does dog thing, drags kibble off to new location. All good when she eats it. All bad when she leaves for vermin to make trails to.
2 Exploded Pyrex, microwave. Did I pluck bacon out of glass shards & eat? Bien sur!
Brought out THE ant Angel of Death, Terro traps. Luckily, had two left. Die, fuckers, die!https://t.co/z0o0YgL2xj

When dealing with ants the vacuum cleaner is your friend. Suck up the food source and the ants until they stop coming back.

Also, look for the source of your ant problem. It could be a hill or "nest" somewhere outside but close to your home and hidden from view.Poison them there.

Pyrex is no longer Pyrex.
"Pyrex" used to be Corning Glass' trademark for the boro-silicate shockproof glass that it invented (and originally sold to laboratories until a woman staffer saw the retail potential...).
The Pyrex brand was sold years ago.
Items marked "Pyrex" are now usually made of tempered soda-lime glass. Which is better than plain untempered glass but still much more susceptible to thermal shock than the borosilicate.
Soda-lime glass is cheaper to manufacture than boro - common materials, lower melt temperature.
You must look for the word borosilicate but even then anything goes with Chinese sources. Refuse any clear glass ovenware with a bluish tint. It is an iron-rich soda lime glass that is likely to heat unevenly and explode. Especially in the microwave.
Also avoid anything molded with sharp edges (another sign of Chinese crap). They qill splinter along those edges. Well cast glass has rounded edges.

Don't forget also that there's "pyrex" and then there's "PYREX"

From the book The Complete Tightwad Gazette (or, at least, this appeared in the newsletter):
Monroe, Georgia: "You wait for a day when the ground is dry and rain is at least a day away, then gently sprinkle a teaspoon of instant grits on each fire-ant hill...The worker ants carry the grits to the queen, who eats them...when she drinks water, the grits expand in her stomach and kill her. The remainder of the hill dies in a few days."
