Five O'Clock Eyeshadow
I just posted another Advice Goddess column, about whether a man can wear makeup to improve his appearance. My first line pretty much sums it up:
A man improves his appearance by getting into a Jaguar, not Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation.
The rest is here.
You are right and you are funny!
But I'm afraid we are on the slippery slope with make-up for men.
When I was a kid (I'm not all that old), earrings on boys were TOO girlie for any real man. Now all kinds of macho men wear them. Even elementary school boys have them.
So I wonder if we are in for the same evolution with make-up. Yikes. I hate the thought of my daughter dating a man with make-up.

Back in the early 80's, 1st year in college, my girlfriend convinced me to put on some eye-liner, sort of an Adam Ant / Valentino thing. I made the mistake of going to work that way, and had to deal with the night crew guys ribbing me for the next year or so....

Makeup on men make me swoon. I happen to be attracted to men with more feminine faces, though.

I know and like a couple of men who wear makeup, but would I ever get in bed with one? Highly unlikely.
I'm the kind of girl who goes for the kind of guy who sees attention to his appearance as a shave, a haircut, clean underwear, and "Aren't you glad you used Dial?" I do like a well-dressed man. Gregg knows this, and always looks like a gentleman when we're going out -- even though he approaches stuff like shoe shopping with all the enthusiasm I show for a mammogram.
