The Cost Of War, Pictured
Via Boing Boing, here are pictures -- heartwrenching photos by Nina Berman -- of Ty Ziegel, terribly wounded in Iraq when a suicide bomber blew himself up near a truck Ziegel and others were patrolling in. Here's the story from The Sunday Times of London.
Warning: These photos are likely to make you cry.
A picture does speak louder than a thousand words.... good job Amy.
Yesterday while waiting at Seattle airport for 8 hours to leave, we saw so many soldiers leaving their families and girlfriends at the security gate. It made us feel exactly opposite of the Schiller reel "America", where ordinary people are being greeted off the planes at an airport in the 70's.
(We never made it to New Orleans- they cancelled us and said they could get us on standby SUNDAY.)

Dude, Big Easy had seven murders in nine hours last night... That flight was all about violent destinations.

Thanks Crid. I knew you could put it all in perspective...
