All In A Day's Work
It's Williamsburg, Virginia, what do you expect? After the evening presentation at the Human Behavior & Evolution Society conference, Nando, Kaja and I found out the hard way that all the restaurants here stop serving at 10 p.m. We ran into this guy picking up a little dinner after work at the Wawa convenience store. Shades of Chuck Palahniuk!
Hi Amy,
Funny pic, love the "Choke" reference too. I just saw Chuck do a reading for his latest book. He's gives the best author readings I've ever seen, complete with a rubber-severed-limb toss which he started doing a couple years ago for "Haunted." I take it you're a fan of his, too?

I've only read that book (I usually am reading so much science that I don't have time to read novels), but I'd read more of his work after reading Choke.
Right now, I'm reading an old Elmore Leonard book that I love, called "Unknown Man #89"

a crime novel about a process server in Detroit.

I recall that I liked the ending of his novel "Fight Club" better than the totally different ending they used for the movie.

10 would be nice. A lot of places in OC -- even fast food outlets -- close at 9 or 9:30.

There is an IHOP in Williamsburg area.

And?
I never got that far away from the school. I basically spent the entire time taking photos and notes for blog items, and when I wasn't doing that, I was writing my column or stealing a few hours of sleep. I did take a few minutes to watch a hilarious Slash film with my professor friend Catherine Salmon...will post a few photos from that soon!
