The Portable Doggie
From the Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, dog as man-purse:
Smart lady pushing the stroller. They never get bigger, don't whine about borrowing the car, are unlikely to develop a meth habit...
...and while they are likely to sleep through much of freshman year of college, you won't be forking over megabucks for the privilege.
People who think of as dogs as replacement children are bizarre to me. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, but the first time I heard a woman call herself "Mommy" to her dog I was stunned. It sounded so...perverted.

I am NOT my dog's mom.
I'm not one of those women who reigns men in, conversationally or otherwise, but one day, Gregg referred to me as "Lucy's mom." Nuh-uh.
I may be a bitch, but...!

Yeah, I'm opting for skipping parenthood...so why would I think of myself as my pets' parent? Bleh. I know it works for some people...but not me.
And I'm like you, Amy...I do correct people who refer to me as the cat's "mom".
Not sure what I think of dogs in strollers, though.

Personally, I'm horrified, but I guess it beats leaving them home.

Dogs in strollers, kids on leashes. Whatever works!

Well, if you take the "whatever works" tack, kids with muzzles?
Sorry...couldn't resist!

Here's a puzzler: you know what we call female dogs.
What do dogs call women?

*What do dogs call women?*

kids with muzzles?
I dunno. It's kinda hard to get them on without being bitten.
