Hey, Retards...Denmark Is In Europe
Palestinians fired rockets on southern Israel as payback for the Danish cartoons. Ali Waked writes for ynetnews:
After the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and the targeted killings, the Palestinian organizations have found a new reason for firing Qassam rockets on southern Israel: Cartoons published in Denmark denouncing Prophet Muhammad.
Six Qassams were fired from the northern Gaza Strip towards the western Negev since Sunday morning. All the rockets landed in open areas, without causing injuries or damage.
The Salah al-Din Brigades, the Popular Resistance Committees' military wing, claimed responsibility for firing the rockets. The organization's spokesman, Muhammad Abed al-Aal, told Ynet that the firing operation, dubbed "the lines of fire", was a response to the "crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians," but also "in response to the cartoons published in Denmark degrading the memory of Prophet Muhammad.
"The Palestinian resistance has committed to respond to the cartoons, and this is our initial response," he added.
Perhaps if their children spent less time as human shields and more time in school, they'd have a better grasp of geography.
As an enlistee in the Navy, I took a trip to Israel. Prior to our ship docking there, we were warned: "Do not go to areas such as the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip, or the Sindi, or you may be shot."
Later however, there was an attempted mugging of me on St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. I thus conclude that having women with rifles standing around, is a deterrent to crime, since I was not mugged in Israel. However, it is not true that Israeli women are required to spend time in the military. I had operated under that misconception for many years, prior to discovering the truth.

Has no one ever pointed out to the palistinians who used to oppress them before the isrealies went and built up a civilization that they were initally invited to join?
lujlp at March 16, 2008 2:21 AM
Norman, military service is compulsory for both men and women.

It is puzzling, though, why they allow women to serve less time than men. See below from the link:

Also, good point, Lujlp. The Jews are a very convenient target for the Arabs, who are tribal peoples, who would otherwise be directing all their energy toward slaughtering each other.

Amy -
To the Palestinians (and the Islamists in general) there's no distinction. We are all Jews. Anything that happens that they don't approve of is either done by the Jews, or on their behalf. Therefore, attacking Israel is always an acceptable response.

Brian, you got it right. For them, it's a Believer Vs. Infidel issue. Everybody who's not (their kind of) Muslim is directly linked to the "Evil Zionist state".
Once again, can we really expect anything else from those fanatics?

Truly remarkable the depths of human depravity.
I remember that old saying, "Women & children first" who knew that in some parts of the world that meant "To get killed"?
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the reason cultures that limited or eliminated human sacrifice triumphed over those that didn't, was
because cultures which sacrficed their children did not take the long view. They were in essence cutting a bush off at the root, not trimming
the metaphorical limbs. I wonder if it might mean that the culture of the palestinian people is on a terminal downswing in the long run, if
children are sacrificed to preserve the lives of present adults, well one nugget of biblical wisdom was that people reap what they sow.

Okay Amy, I grant you that point. But look how easy it is for them to get out of their obligation:
"A woman may be exempted on the basis of a declaration saying that she is opposed to conscription on religious grounds. Married women are also exempted, and women who marry during their compulsory service are released forthwith."
[from Wikipedia, "Israel", footnote no. 143]
Besides that it also says "manpower" several times. So there.

The link you gave doesn't say the part about women "getting married while serving". That seems odd.
Norman at March 17, 2008 1:39 AM
I only clicked on it once..I swear!
