CBS had a list of the 10 smartest and dumbest dogs. Border collies were at the top of the "smartest" list while my Basset Hound made the dumbest list.
It's nearly impossible to train a Bassett Hound to do any tricks. They do what they want and nothing else. I say that makes them the smart ones.

Great dog! Did you notice how cool her owner was? She obviously didn't expect to lose.
But reciting Proust for the next round? Shouldn't that rather be Dogstoevsky? (SCNR...)
