Woohoo!

Posted by: marion at May 22, 2008 6:57 AM

Thanks so much!

Posted by: Amy Alkon at May 22, 2008 7:14 AM

Congratulations! Well deserved and earned.

Posted by: Donna at May 22, 2008 7:22 AM

Hey, that's wonderful! Congratulations!

Posted by: eric at May 22, 2008 7:27 AM

Congrats and good luck! You're so much better than all those other bums...not that I've ever heard of any of them.

Posted by: Todd Fletcher at May 22, 2008 9:18 AM

Congratulations! Best of Luck!

Posted by: MeganNJ at May 22, 2008 9:32 AM

Hey Amy- it appears your blog archives are not linking. I was hoping to look back at the "Tea and Crumpets" to see how everyone responded...

Posted by: Eric (now capitalized!) at May 22, 2008 9:42 AM

Hey, thanks for looking. But what do you mean, my blog archives aren't linking? A bit worried! I searched "crumpets" and came up with this:

http://www.advicegoddess.com/archives/2007/07/01/tea_and_crumpet.html

Posted by: Amy Alkon at May 22, 2008 9:52 AM

Actually might be because they listed it with an ampersand instead of an "and," which I used. I put in the links above to both.

Posted by: Amy Alkon at May 22, 2008 9:53 AM

There it is! For some reason my browser was showing a page error when I went looking for it...

Posted by: Eric at May 22, 2008 10:17 AM

I am on my laptop using a satellite connection right now- my browser window would be like 20 normal pages in length, and they are all blank until you get about 10 pages down. It's probably just me.

Posted by: Eric at May 22, 2008 10:24 AM

That's really weird. What browser/computer/OS?

Posted by: Amy Alkon at May 22, 2008 10:38 AM

Who could be surprised?

Not bad for the "red-headed step-child" of journalism!

If you get past the lace curtain, what WILL they do with you?! ;)

Keep it up.

Run me in more papers, I hope!

Feel free to request my column in your local paper. Write the alt weekly editor or the features editor of the local daily.

Posted by: Amy Alkon at May 22, 2008 11:40 AM

My wife and I like you too, Amy! We really, really do!

Posted by: Norm at May 22, 2008 6:03 PM

Best of luck!

Posted by: Crid at May 22, 2008 6:18 PM

You've been a daily day-brightener for me
since I accidently came across your work
when checking up on some mythology,
googling "goddess" and thinking "wow, here
is something special."
It is really nice to see this generally recognized.

Posted by: Northcountry at May 22, 2008 7:07 PM

Hey, thanks so much. Means a lot!

Posted by: Amy Alkon at May 22, 2008 10:43 PM

*golf clap* ... Nicely done Amy, very nicely done.
Bravo!

Congrats, but being mentioned alongside pieces of crap like Tim Ruttan must suck. Kind of like future Nobel Peace Prize winners have to look at their award knowing that asshats like Al Gore, Yasser Arafat and Jimmah Carter won one too.
