The Mob Didn't Have It This Good
They call this Muslim Belgian woman a "warrior" in The New York Times headline. Yeah, she's a regular Julius Caesar -- 48-year-old Moroccan-born Malika El Aroud, who, in 2008, only goes out with a big black tablecloth covering her head and another covering her body. But, it isn't her outings that are the problem. This neo-primitive is fomenting violence in Europe via the Internet -- funded by the Belgian taxpayers, who are giving her $1100 a month in unemployment!
Islam...plus modern (western, of course) tools and inventions...plus the benefits of western society...equals a red carpet for these barbarians to drag us all back to the Middle Ages.
Elaine Sciolino and Souad Mekhennet write for The New York Times:
In her living room, Ms. El Aroud, a 48-year-old Belgian, wears the ordinary look of middle age: a plain black T-shirt and pants and curly brown hair. The only adornment is a pair of powder-blue slippers monogrammed in gold with the letters SEXY.But it is on the Internet where Ms. El Aroud has distinguished herself. Writing in French under the name "Oum Obeyda," she has transformed herself into one of the most prominent Internet jihadists in Europe.
She calls herself a female holy warrior for Al Qaeda. She insists that she does not disseminate instructions on bomb-making and has no intention of taking up arms herself. Rather, she bullies Muslim men to go and fight and rallies women to join the cause.
"It's not my role to set off bombs -- that's ridiculous," she said in a rare interview. "I have a weapon. It's to write. It's to speak out. That's my jihad. You can do many things with words. Writing is also a bomb."
Ms. El Aroud has not only made a name for herself among devotees of radical forums where she broadcasts her message of hatred toward the West. She also is well known to intelligence officials throughout Europe as simply "Malika" -- an Islamist who is at the forefront of the movement by women to take a larger role in the male-dominated global jihad.
She's now suspected in a plot to carry out violent attacks in Belgium.
Now, even as Ms. El Aroud remains under constant surveillance, she is back home rallying militants on her main Internet forum and collecting more than $1,100 a month in government unemployment benefits."Her jihad is not to lead an operation but to inspire other people to wage jihad," said Glenn Audenaert, the director of Belgium's federal police force, in an interview. "She enjoys the protection that Belgium offers. At the same time, she is a potential threat."
Excuse me, but what idiot left the door to western Europe in and let in the people who will be the death of it?
And is there any chance of saving it now, and how?
And if, as I suspect, Europe is lost, when Europe goes under, what happens to North America -- including Canada, which is rapidly becoming a rather scary place for those with Enlightenment values? Here, for example, from The Washington Times:
In Canada, meanwhile, Mark Steyn awaits trial before the Canadian and British Columbian Human Rights Commissions for the crime of committing hate speech by writing a book and a magazine article that warned against the dangers of Islam overwhelming Europe. The charges were precipitated by demands for Mr. Steyn's prosecution by Khurrum Awan, president of the Canadian Arab Federation, and a band of fellow students who publicly marched to announce their demands. They claimed that as Muslims they had the right to influence what Mr. Steyn writes: "When you are talking about the issues that relate directly to us. When people feel insulted they should have recourse." Amazingly, the culturally feeble, intimidated Canadian officials promptly filed criminal charges.
Here's the video.
Societal suicide, anyone?
Yes, 'societal suicide' pretty well sums it up.
It reminds me of the battle in nature eons ago, between the angiosperms and the gymnosperms. The West has the characteristics of the gymnosperm. Islam has the characteristics of the angiosperms.
The gymnosperms got their butts kicked.

I am confident that Mr. Steyn, whose writing I admire, will know how best to shine the light of richly-deserved ridicule on these Islamist apologists and Canadian "officials" alike. Unless I miss my guess, they're picking on the wrong little black duck here.

Ha. Exactly.

...she is back home rallying militants on her main Internet forum and collecting more than $1,100 a month in government unemployment benefits.
And the Belgium government is tolerating this because...? I must be missing something here. Why don't they arrest her sorry ass?
On another note, there is an article in today's Connecticut Post about Muslims spreading their brand of "the Good Word" over here in the USA. A group called the Book of Signs Foundation is going door to door, giving out English translations of the Quran. There's no link for the article but it was written by Mary Owen of McClatchy-Tribune.
From the article: The Muslim organization says that since July it has distributed more than 70, 000 free English Qurans to homes in the Chicago area and an additional 30,000 in the Houston area. ...Organizers said their aim is to help people develop their own opinions about Islam instead of being mislead by common misconceptions about the faith that have been especially egregious since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. "we're just trying to be brokers of honest information," said Wajaht Sayeed, founder and director of Book of Signs, which is also known as the al-Furqaan Foundation. "You make your own judgement." The books being distributed include a forward that urges the readers to treat the books with respect, asking residents who don't want it to call for pickup or give it to a local mosque. Sayeed said the foundation chose a translation written in a simple, modern language that Americans will easily understand. "The general sense will be clear," Sayeed said. "Islam teaches peace."
Now I don't know about you, but I'm curious as to what their "translation" leaves out, due to language differences and such. Yeah, I know, call me a skeptic. o_O

Amy, your blog is getting to be by far the best way for us to be keeping up with all this.
I watched the program you linked to right to the end. Even though the debate never really got anywhere, I felt I owed it to fairness to see it through. Again, the selective oversensitivity of Muslims was on full display. The nearest those three young Canadian Muslims got to admitting jihadist Islamic fascists existed was to say "even if there is a problem" and that's not even close.
Mark Steyn won the debate hands down. The law students' case failed because they never dealt with the real hate speech in our societies, which is coming from Islam, but quibbled endlessly over the fact that there is free speech in Canada. I don't think I would choose them to represent me.
Does the Ontario Human Rights Commission ever prosecute the Islamists for their hate speech? If those students wish to know what a "hallmark of hate" (to quote one of them) is, they need look no further than their own religious leaders.
Thank you for showing us this Amy. You are doing a great service to free speech.

Come to think of it, the static Muslims kick up in Western societies about their human rights being abused by free speech is just another way of putting their fingers in their ears and going "la-la-la-la-la-la-la" so they don't hear the truth being told about their so-called religion.

No thanks, Amy, we already have some.
I am sure you are aware of this story:
Minnesota using taxpayer money to fund Islamic schools.

Minnesota Madrassa
INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILYPosted 4/10/2008 Islamofascism: As school officials and secularists turn a blind eye, Muslim radicals in Minneapolis take a publicly funded charter school and turn it into a madrassa.Read More: Religion | Education Flagrantly violating the constitutional ban on state promotion of religion, the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy, or TIZA, herds children into bathrooms to perform ritual Islamic cleansing before leading them into the school gym to pray to Allah each day.In three visits to the K-8 school, the Minnesota Department of Education never noticed a problem, even though the tax-funded school is located at a mosque. And the ACLU didn't bother until a Minneapolis columnist exposed the madrassa earlier this week."It appears the school may be impermissibly blurring the line between providing a secular education and endorsing and promoting religion and religious activities," said Charles Samuelson, who heads the group's Minnesota office.Blurring the line? It has erased it. There's overwhelming evidence the public school's endorsing the Islamic faith, including:• Daily scheduled prayer led by an imam.• Classroom instruction in the Quran.• Compulsory "after-school" Islamic Studies classes (buses don't leave the school until after Islamic Studies is over).• Halal cafeteria food.• Observance of Islamic holidays.• Early release for Friday mosque.Forced conversion is a genuine concern at TIZA. How many of its 300 students have recited the shahada, or Islamic profession of faith, without their parents' consent? Radicalization also is a worry. Are Muslim boys being indoctrinated into violent jihad? The school, named after an 8th century jihadist who invaded Spain, shares the headquarters building of the Muslim American Society (MAS) of Minnesota, whose mission is "establishing Islam in Minnesota." The FBI says MAS, based in Washington, D.C., was founded by members of the radical Muslim Brotherhood. What's more, the school is sponsored by Islamic Relief, a Muslim charity identified by the U.S. Treasury as an al-Qaida front group. If this school instead had been found with so much as a copy of the Ten Commandments in its dumpster, lawsuits would have already flown, and it would be out of business. But TIZA merges mosque and state, using tax dollars since 2003, when its Islamist sponsor took advantage of new charter-school rules. Last year it took in nearly $3 million in government grants. The ACLU also was slow to respond to complaints from parents about similar Shariah creep at a public school in San Diego. Carver Elementary carved out a school within a school for Somali Muslims to bow and pray to Mecca, eat special meals and speak Arabic. The disease of Islamofascism continues to spread across America, and liberal multiculturalists are its vector.

This kind of kowtowing, disguised as multiculturalism or "acceptance", is what concerns me about the Democrat party controlling both houses of congress and the White House. With Obama, as little as he has revealed about himself with his inconsistent statements and "take-backs" I can only think of the old story "Tiger or Lady". It's looking more like a tiger will spring when the door is opened.

Would the last Infidel leaving Europe please remember to turn out the lights.
We can complain about things in the U.S. but we are not near as bad as Europe.

Wow, thanks for posting that, Ken. Going to go read the piece.

It's a totalitarian system masquerading as a religion. See Surah 9:5, The Verse of The Sword, which abrogates all the nicer verses before it. Also, Mohammed was a mass-murdering pedophile, and Muslims are supposed to emulate his actions -- hence all the Muslims, wherever possible, marrying and fucking little girls.
