Carrey On, My Wayward Ho
Or something like that. Why I love Jim Carrey, and have, since the days of Mad TV.

Of course, as lujlp points out, Carrey was on In Living Color, not Mad TV.

I'm sorry but wanst Jim on "In Living Color"?

Posted by: lujlp at July 6, 2008 11:01 AM

Although I have never been a big fan of Jim Carrey, I am definitely not a fan of his and his girlfriend's opposition to vaccinations; they both seem particularly ill-informed about that issue, among others. However, celebrity stances on important issues are usually not my cup of tea, unless they show some evidence of real thought and study.

I didn't connect him to that. I just like him comedically.

She's a dimwit, spreading damaging ideas that are sure to damage herd immunity and endanger a lot of children:

Also, how long before we start seeing kids with polio again. Make no mistake, I'm no supporter of her idiocy.

Well, here's a connection, masking as "green our vaccines" (http://www.talkaboutcuringautism.org/video/green-our-vaccines-rally-video.htm). Of course, when pressed, it seems such people will never find that any vaccine is "green" enough, unless it is homeopathic.

Speaking of polio, I am old enough to remember lining up with scores of other children and parents to get the first vaccines. Most parents were aware of the risks and were more than eager to participate, figuring the odds were orders of magnitude greater in their childrens' favor with the protection. How soon the next generations forget.

Simple solution:

If you refuse vaccination, and your child contracts a deadly illness that they should have been vaccinated for, you are charged with negligent homicide and imprisoned.

Vaccines haven't had mercury in them in the US for several years. It's very likely that Jenny's kid never got a vaccine with Thimerosal in it.

Brian, see adjacent message stacks: It's unlikely that you're competent to comment of communal risk.

(What?

Well, yeah, sure... It is fun to pester him about this stuff. But that doesn't mean that doing so is wrong.)

Amy,

I know you're familiar with Orac's Respectful Insolence site--here's one of his many posts regarding the Carrey/McCarthy obsession with "greening our vaccines:"
