Amy, I love that you even post fashion advice for hoes. (Hos?)

Reminds me of a former coworker who took the bus to work. She'd come in wearing these incredibly painful-looking shoes and boots - the kinds with the incredibly high, narrow heel combined with incredibly pointed toes.
And then she'd get to the office, take off the painful shoes, and put on fluffy house slippers.
I could never quite get her to even understand - much less answer - the simple question of why she didn't wear walkable shoes to and from work, and the "fashion" shoes inside the office where she sat at a desk most of the day.

Never could understand that.
I never wear uncomfortable shoes. I can't find the groovy ones I have, but for women who wear pumps, I recommend Cole Haan Nike G-Series:
I wear high heels a lot, but I wear boots, a half size too large, and then big soft socks. And then, I live in Los Angeles. It's five steps to get from my house to my hybrid car and then another five from parking to wherever.
Exactly, Amy-- the *right* kind of high heels can actually be comfortable!
These are not those heels.

hahahaha - total generation gap!! My mother would say the same thing about these shoes.
I love the heel but don't like the purple, patent leather!! And of course - I wasn't too impressed by the shoes in the link either. They look like "old lady shoes" to me...
Nothing against anyone...it's just an "age" thing...my mom always said "You know you're getting older when you look at younger people and wonder why they dress so poorly"!!
Take care!

Not groovy enough for me either. I have a really fab pair, kitten heels with a rubber sole, that I could jog miles in, and I bought them at a deep discount.
I love those heels, and you don't know if a heel will be comfortable until you try them on. I can hoop in heels like these! Flats hurt my Achilles Tendons, so I am always in heels!

It is a generational thing. I dont like the heels in the picture, but I have a ton of that type of heel. Funny enough my friend always call them "hooker" heels as well. But she thinks they're cute. I actually tend to slip in kitten heels (and dont like them on me anyways) but any shoe that's like the one abouve I can run in and change gears while I'm driving.

It's the platforms and the pimp-mobile patent leather combined that make these really corner of 11th Ave and 49th Street.
I think it's always wise to buy platforms with care.
And actually, high heels aren't all uncomfortable. The really expensive ones are actually more comfortable, I find. Naturally, I buy them at someplace with a name like Discount Shoes Forever or ShoeWorld for a fraction of the price.
Contrary to my overall hippie-ness, I don't like birkenstocks, but do like flat- or low-heeled shoes and sandals most of the time. When I get a request, however, I will put on the requisite CFMP's*, with my little black dress, as long as I know I don't have to do a lot of walkin'!
*if you don't know, I ain't tellin'! o_O

One of my most comfortable pair of shoes (Anne Klein) has a 3" heel (my personal max). Also, walked quite a bit in these Cole Haan's in Paris last year:
Never mind...Teva doesn't align its photos with product gender.

I thought all girls in heels were kittens?
Somebody enlighten me -- what's a kitten heel? (And the answer is not "never, it's a cat, cats don't heel").

A "kitten" heel is a pointy heel, generally 1" to 2/5". (Unlike the 4"-5" shoe designers seem to be expecting us to teeter around in these days.)
I'd like deja pseu to model them for us. She looks pretty hot in the Monet gardens. Dang. We have Amy, deja pseu, and Gretchen. All smokin' hot. All good writers, too.
This blog just keeps getting better and better.
Oh, is this thread supposed to be about shoes?

I've worn these, in black, this summer. My most successful combo was with a navy linen suit and white gauze shirt.
Um. Am I chatting about fashion? Yup.

I find that 3" heels are actually more comfy for me than lower heels-- puts less pressure on my knees. Kitten heels make me wobble!

I disagree about the shoe preference being a generational thing. I'm 24 and think they're worse than gaudy (and I do like me some gaudy.)
I think the shoes in the link Amy posted are not pretty, but from what few pics I've seen of her, Amy has exquisite taste.

True. I can't wear anything over 3" anymore (at least not to walk in).
These Cole Haan's are good looking and comfortable; walked quite a bit in them in Paris last year.
