?eh, you like? I just read that Mazda may beat GM to having a fully plug and play hybrid before the Volt... and because Mazda is partnered with ford on many such ventures, it'll prolly come as a ford too. How much fun will that be?

Amy, this is offtopic, but I am surfing with ads on today, and I noticed the Pajamas TV ad over to my right.

Hey, I'm not that interested in seeing Glenn Reynolds or John Hinderaker in their pajamas on TV, but um, when are you and Dr. Helen scheduled to appear in your pajamas?

Thanks for asking! Not sure. You could request me. There's actually another company putting together a web TV thing for me -- with a great producer who's a friend of mine. Should know more on that soon, but if it comes off, it'll be weekly and funny and interesting.

Last night after midnight I followed a link from Fark to Ustream.tv... A couple of young guys from Wichita were were sitting in a rental car in in a shopping mall in Houma, Louisiana, watching the storm move in. They had a webcam on the dashboard and they were streaming live video (through some technology I've forgotten) to the local cell towers, and they also had chat session going on the PC.

I watched for about two hours. I watched nighttime rain in a parking lot though a shitty camera, with two decidedly unprofessional hosts who drank garish soft drinks ("Monster") to stay awake. It was freaky captivating.

Presumably CNN offered live coverage as well, and I bet they spent a lot more money on it... Anderson Cooper's hair doesn't style itself, you know.

But sincere, low-budget, interactive video is the future of the form.
