Live, From New York...
It's Sunday morning, and for those of you who missed "Saturday Night Live," here's the tape. The blond chick (Amy Pohler) is a really terrible Hillary, but Fey is more Palin than Palin. Like, they could send her to state dinners if Palin is busy.
(Note: Somebody at NBC put up a non-working embed code. Here's a link. An error message may come up briefly, but it'll play.)

Darn.... it seems to have been taken down already
was it good?
We on this side of the pond cannot believe what's going on in your election... its so unreal.

Drat. If NBC were smart, they'd make it available with a commercial on the front and rake the dough in.
Amy Alkon at September 14, 2008 9:34 AM
Ah, it seems they have. Will change the embed.
Amy Alkon at September 14, 2008 9:36 AM
That was GREAT! The Palin actress is perfect.

Tell me again why people watch Saturday Night Live.

Thanks Amy...
It was really funny but when they say she is one heart beat away from the Whitehouse, I shudder.
Please no....

It's up on Hulu. More like Tina Feh.
She's funny on 30 Rock, though.

I loved the home school vs public school skit
lujlp at September 14, 2008 6:19 PM
Crid. Come on, you laughed.
I thought this was hilarious, and I'll TELL you why people watch Saturday Night Live, because the bits worth watching are posted on YouTube! It has always been the case with SNL that you have to sift through a lot of sand to get to any gems.

Did'n watchit!
Hell, we haven't seen enough of the real one yet.
Crid [cridcridatgmail] at September 14, 2008 8:37 PM
So we can watch uber-hottie Tina Fey dress up as a naughty librarian. But to be fair, that's the only reason I can think of.
Jeff at September 14, 2008 10:10 PM
Listen, it's good clean fun, I'm not trying to be a killjoy in any way... But I just don't get a 'naughty' vibe from this person at all. What you're talking about is an "eye of the beholder" thing. (Again, I'm not criticizing your viewpoint...)
But she doesn't seem any too fast with smiles and jokes. She's 46, right? So far as we know, she personally never got naughtier than a couple tokes of grass during Reagan's first term, and maybe a tight wedding dress.
She has nice teeth. When she talks to people her default posture is receptively parted lips and direct eye contact. But she's not recklessly playful.

I can't believe SNL is still on the air and Jericho isn't.
Seriously, out of any given 90 minutes of SNL, you'll find the first 15 to be relatively funny, the musical acts to be dutifully trendy, and the rest is a pile of meh. I do feel for those writers who have to make guys like Michael Phelps funny.

We watched a couple shows on the History Channel and I fell asleep. Gregg found this on YouTube, and I thought she did a pretty hilarious Palin, and voila!

I don't care for SNL either but that bit was hilarious! No, she didn't look like "Hilary" while the other was dead-on for Palin but she had the best lines...
The best bit was taking on that nonsense about wanting it bad enough. It's about time someone pointed out the absurdity of that stupid assertion. I am so sick of that being parried around these days like you'll get something if you just want it badly enough. Uh, not here in the really real world. Does not always happen.
In my youth, I was a bit of a fanatical Paul Simon fan (he lost me when he decided Willie Nelson having to pay taxes some kind of great political cause worth fighting for) and would only watch when he was on.
I'm not that fanatical a fan of anyone any more. Got better things to do on a Saturday night. Like sleep.

And this is why the great and benevolent Marduk allowed we pitiful mortals to create TIVO
All hail Marduk

I haven't watched SNL since John Belushi passed. No wait, I have seen it a couple, three times, maybe since then. It's just not that funny anymore.
Flynne at September 15, 2008 9:31 AM
There are things worth Tivo'ing, lujlp. SNL isn't one of them. Funny bits like this are just too far and in between.
T's Grammy at September 16, 2008 8:41 AM
Love it. Tina Fey is gorgeous and Tina Fey is gorgeous as Sarah Palin. Only too true, though, Hillary. Obama picked the wrong running mate.
