The Content Of Their...Skin Color
A commenter e-mailed me this:
"I would ask you to not hang or lynch the appointee while you castigate the appointer," Rush said at Blagojevich's news conference. "Let me just remind you that there presently is no African-American in the U.S. Senate." (From Yahoo! News)Because, like, that's what's important. Having more African Americans in the US Senate. Right?
I don't vote for women, whites, blacks, or people with really nice hair. This isn't junior high school; it's the United States Senate. I'm for voting for (or, in this unfortunate case) appointing the best person for the job -- and for ignoring vile, low people who suggest that vetting a candidate is "hanging" or "lynching" him.

Word.
The...when...uhh...I forgot what I was going to say. Oh, boy.
Ta-Nehisi Coates is all over this dude.
Something about this Bobby Rush character backing a Blair Hill fellow against an Obama fellow back in 2004.
And stuff.

To be precise, this is a matter for Illinois. It has nothing to do with me.
Meanwhile, Patterson considers Caroline "I'm not proud of my voting record" Kennedy for the US Senate. Well, a state that elected Hillary "Life long Yankee fan" Clinton to the Senate has already shown no aversion to lame representation. Why start now?

Typical racial red herring...
"Here's the new candidate, Kamarade! If you don't like him, it's because you are a racist with dreams of lynching any Black man who chose to do the heroic task to preside over you. Any critic of him will be seen as a hate speech crime, for He is superior to you for not being soiled by the crimes of the evil White Race".
Have we supposed to have left those social rethorics after the ellection of Obama or the race card (I.E. the non-white free meal card) is too precious to be left behind?

I live in the Chicago area and Bobby Rush is as big a racist as I can remember.
Funny, not in a ha ha way, that blago went ahead and appointed someone, and they just happened to be black.
I wish that someone other than Roland Harris had been appointed, but as a sitting governor, blago does have the authority to appoint (just not the brains to realize how stupid it was).
They should have had a special election for this.
