Barbarian Goes Hollywood -- For Now
Borzou Daragahi writes for the LA Times of the ambitions of a nice Muslim teenage girl in "Martyrdom beckons Lebanese teen, but she really wants to direct":
Reporting from Tyre, Lebanon -- Hiba Qassir dreams of making movies. She's ambitious and precocious enough. At 18, she's taught herself how to edit video and sound on a computer, and has her sights set on directing gripping social and psychological dramas. But if the movie business doesn't work out, that's OK. She has other dreams: perhaps to become a cop or a pilot. Or maybe a suicide bomber.
"Martyrdom is the shortest way to heaven, and the history of martyrdom is not like any history," Hiba says. "It made victory. We wouldn't have achieved victory without these martyrdoms."
Islam -- the religion of pieces (infidel body parts everywhere!)
Typical case of "Sublime Savagery". I love these lines about martyrdom. If it was really the case, why there's so many manifestations against Israel's military action in the Gaza Strip? Or maybe martyrdom only count when you kill a civilized human...

Yes, I meant to say "protest". Sorry about this, sometimes my french leaks through my writings.
This being said, I am shocked by this text. Is there anyone in the West not finding such a language reprehensible or we are all sleeping into the Lalaland of moral relativism?

I really, really hope movie-making works out for her.

And people are remarkably undisturbed and rather uninformed about Islam in all respects.

And what awaits her in paradise? Seventy two clumsy teen boys?

Hey, if you are a loser who never did anything worthwhile in his life, dying as a martyr is the best way to become a hero. Hey, if you kill a Jew for Sky-Daddy, he will like you in his afterlife and you will hang with him forever.
Take that phrase spoken by the savage as an example:
They are losers with no other skills than the easy task of exploding themselves (with bombs they might not even had the knowledge to build!!! ) for the name of Sky-Daddy. For complete failures who have only faith as a virtue, this is quite a deal. This is why I call them "Sublime Savages"; killers who arbors a twisted mythical vision of things to hide their jealousy and to justify their sadistic acts.
