Go To The Behead Of The Class
Muzzammil Hassan wanted to portray Muslims in a more positive light, so he launched Bridges TV in 2004. And then, in 2009, he was charged with the beheading of his pretty young wife. Gene Warner writes in the Buffalo News:
The killing apparently occurred some time late Thursday afternoon. Detectives still are looking for the murder weapon."Obviously, this is the worst form of domestic violence possible," Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III said today.
Authorities say Aasiya Hassan recently had filed for divorce from her husband.
"She had an order of protection that had him out of the home as of Friday the 6th [of February]," Benz said.
Muzzammil Hassan was arraigned before Village Justice Deborah Chimes and sent to the Erie County Holding Center.
Oh, and while beheading isn't on the list of Islamic solutions to the problem of disobedient wives, don't forget that Islam justifies, even supports, wife-beating. From JihadWatch, posted by Robert Spencer:
...The permission to beat one's wife is rooted in the Islamic holy book, the Qur'an, and Islamic tradition. The Qur'an says: "Men shall take full care of women with the bounties which God has bestowed more abundantly on the former than on the latter, and with what they may spend out of their possessions. And the righteous women are the truly devout ones, who guard the intimacy which God has [ordained to be] guarded. And as for those women whose ill-will you have reason to fear, admonish them [first]; then leave them alone in bed; then beat them..." (4:34)
The Islamic prophet Muhammad was once told that "women have become emboldened towards their husbands," whereupon he "gave permission to beat them" (Sunan Abu Dawud, book 11, no. 2141). He was unhappy with the women who complained, not with their husbands who beat them.

Obviously, this is the worst form of domestic violence possible
Translation: This guy's an absolute barbarian, an animal. Wouldn't it be nice if the DA would just say that.

The next time, he should slaughter a goat on the sidewalk, behead his children, then strap on a suicide bomb & blow himself up in front of a kindergarten. That should do it :)

and we see yet again that an order of protection is only meaningful if the person it is brought against is willing to abide it. So good guys get beaten with it, and bad guys simply don't care about it.
death is too good for this guy. he should be locked in solitary until he goes insane. or maybe he is already. What, he thought going to the police, they would say: "oh, you must be following your holy book, try not to let it happen again."?

My good friend Sergeant Heather recommends having one on your keychain, one velcroed to your car door, one velcroed to your nightstand, and a couple around the house.
She told me that a trained police office has a 20 percent chance of hitting somebody with a handgun in a moment of crisis. The average citizen isn't going to be trained like she is, either. She says, if you're going to have a gun in the home, she recommends a shotgun, for the unmistakable racking sound, and for the way it sprays outward, making you more likely to hit an intruder.
Here's a keychain pepper spray -- the one I have on my keychain: Crime Halter Keychain Pepper Spray with UV Identifying Dye - Disable and Identify Attackers.

Right-- and paradoxically, the shotgun is less likely to kill you if a criminal disarms you and uses it on you, as is always a possibility when confronting a criminal with a weapon. Also less likely for a child to accidentally shoot himself with it (not that a child should EVER find a gun in your home without (A) a gunlock, and (B) with ammunition in a kid-accessible place, MUCH LESS in the weapon itself). It's the win-win firearm for home defense.
UV pepper spray is a freakin' BRILLIANT idea! I'm going to get some myself!

Second thing they teach you in concealed carry class-you don't pull it till you're gonna use it. There is no pull it out and hold it on someone till the cops come. You get it out and kill with it, or you will be killed with it.
Shotguns are definately the best weapon for home defense.
Guns for home defense are of course useless in a home with kids. You can't have a loaded gun, and you won't have time to unlock and load it if you need it.
First they teach you, BTW, is there is no such thing as an unloaded gun.

Where do you get that nutty idea? Close up, a shotgun is the most lethal firearm there is short of a sub-machine gun.

Guns are great if you know how to use them and bloody dangerous to you if you do not. If you "don't have the time" to join a range, take a series of training classes and go regularly, you shouldn't own a gun. It's not just about the ability to aim and hit your target - it's about the ability to act quickly and automatically. If you don't have the time to reach that level, spend the money on beefing up your security system instead.
However, if you do get a gun? Laser sighting. Both helps your aim AND gives a non-insane criminal the chance to think, "Wait, I didn't sign up for an ARMED victim, 'scusemethanxbye!"
Security expert Gavin de Becker has been banging the drum about the weaknesses of protection orders for years. They CAN work...in cases with non-violent perpetrators primarily concerned about damage to their social status. With really dangerous people, however, they're gasoline on a lit fire, while providing an illusion of security that puts victims at more, not less, risk.

I think thew best advice I ever heard about Self Defense and for the Home was a SWORD.
1. Does not go off accidentally.
2. Easy to store under the bed, on a wall, etc
3. Very intimidating. Which at time is all you need.
4. Easy to train in for defense.
5. Unlikely to take out other people accidentally like a gun.
6. If needed all it takes is a good slash or jab to injure someone and make them thing twice about continuing in their chosen line of work.

Do a Google News search and you'll discover how very little media coverage this story is getting. Ask yourself why that is. And also, if the alleged murder were a big time Christian, do you think the coverage would be so sparse? I don't.

Don't buy pepper spray, it will only infuriate the truly committed. If someone really wants to fuck you up, arm yourself with a gun. Don't get caught up in what type, any gun is better than no gun. Yeah you have to learn how to use it and develop the ability to shoot some SOB dead, but that's the price of liberty, taking responsibility for your own defense. If you think a piece of paper will dissuade a guy like Hassan VIII, sleep well.

"I think thew best advice I ever heard about Self Defense and for the Home was a SWORD."
I subscribe to that school of thought, except I prefer blunt instruments. Steel baseball bats, steel pipes, escrima sticks, ASP batons, etc. I have kids. So sure, a kid/baby could hurt themselves with a bat, but it's no more likely than for them to hurt themselves with any other heavy blunt object. Sharp objects and toddlers don't mix well.
Someone starts kicking in my door during the day, I'll be quickly ready to ambush with "blunt force trauma" inflicter in hand. I doubt they'd give me time to unlock a gun.
If it happened at night, I'd be too busy grabbing the kids, then blockading the bedroom door, while my wife calls the police (we keep one of our cell phones in the bedroom at night just in case). That is, if they didn't already run due to the house alrm being set off.
My parents have guns in each of their bedroom nightstands, by the way. They don't have kids living there anymore. I'm not anti-gun by any means - I just don't see it as practical for my own personal needs.
