French Nitwit Finds It Subversive To Cover Up Ads With Hijabs
From Bess Twiston Davies, blogging at the Times of London:
An anonymous "guerrilla street artist" has taken to spray-painting black veils and body-length chadors over images of the sexily dressed models who grace billboards advertising luxury beauty items, high fashion or music. Armed with spray paint and a black marker pen, Princess Hijab (PH) is on a mission to "hijabize" advertising. reports muxlim.com. She claims it is "subverting visuals," a "noble cause" and "anti-advertising."
Not to worry, "Princess Hijab." All those sexily dressed models will be gone soon enough -- when France is taken over by the growing Muslim population and Sharia law is instituted. Then, if you leave the house without your husband's permission, you're likely to be beaten -- or worse. Around then, I think you'll be wishing for a world filled with L'Oreal ads and the occasional photo of the exposed boob in the Métro.

"It's called idiotism. But, "situationism" is here:" Actually both accurate and kind of scary. The dupes that pushed communism were quite ignorant of the practical implementation under Stalin and Mao. They pushed certain aspects without looking at the whole. This girl isn't even pushing aspects of Islam beyond the obvious cursory connection but it applies quite nicely.

And actually, per George Mason, Islam isn't really a religion but a totalitarian system calling itself a religion, bent on taking over the world, installing The New Caliphate, and killing or converting the infidel (that would be you and me).

Actually, this PH might be performing a public service. What it needs is for officials to start pointing at the vandalized ads and saying to the public, "See? This is what you're in for!"

Just what I was thinking, Cousin Dave. Purposely or not, this "performance artist" will hopefully open French eyes to the future that some want.

it is really extremely cruel and extremely nasty of PH to do that, whoever she is. it is most inhumane.

The next time I'm in England I'm going to drive on the right side of the road because, damnit, that's the way they do it here. In fact, I think everybody should just do everything the way I do, believe everything I believe and we'll all get along so much better.
If you don't like the way we do things in Paris go somewhere else.

To Saudi Arabia, for example, where they'll probably cut off your hand for such pranks.
Amy Alkon at February 27, 2009 2:34 PM
Again, I agree with you, Amy Alkon. if she is really that obssessed with covering other innocent normal people with blackness, she should go back on a way ticket to saudi arabia.
