The best response would be for the Islamic community of that area, especially their young men, to depose the man and embarrass him. That would quickly turn this into a non-issue. I would like to see the young man that was falsely accused step up and lead his community against morons like Hilaly.
One can draw parallels to the Catholic church when it found some priests had sexually abused altar servers. A quick internal "beat down" of the priests (by sending them to jail) would be both a warning to others not to repeat the actions, and would instantly stop serious criticism. Instead, history shows us what happens when you don't do that....

Oh my...it's like when I catch my three year old doing something naughty, the same caliber of excuses come out of her mouth.
Nah, actually, hers are better.

Juliana leads the way! I tried to make type up this point earlier but lost interest...
Isn't this a perfect example of a child's idea of cleverness?
I really believe that Islamic cultures are worst at inculcating mature, responsible behavior.

So lame, I don't know where to start...
The man is obviously a narcissistic with a "Spiritual" position of authority. This man should be shamed by his community and lampooned by the media. Great job from the Australian TV News crew.

the islamic(eg, indonesian) people also have this nasty habit of breaking things and blaming other innocent people.
Man, what a loser.
