Galoshes For Girls
They're called Shuellas, and they go over your high-heeled shoes, boots, or sandals (or flats) to protect them from the rain.
Love the bright color, and they come with a little pouch you can fold them into so you can tuck them in your purse. Clever. Also, they're pretty sleek looking for a boot you put over your shoes.
Thanks so much to everyone who's been helping keep me afloat by buying stuff through my Amy's Mall links to Amazon. I get a kickback from every purchase, and appreciate even the smallest ones, which count toward increasing my percentage (from 6.5 percent to 7). This past month, I think my total was $162 for everybody's Amazon purchases, which made me feel just great. It's especially helpful because the Tucson Citizen, which always paid me very well, went out of business May 15, 2009. Just hoping those who work there will be able to find new jobs.

Amy what happens when we make returns to Amazon? I had to return a pair of shoes from the 80% off designer shoes sale and try another pair which did work out. I got to wondering if and how returns affect your kickbacks.

Ms. Alkon, how can you, a child of the Midwest, even look at a pair of galoshes and not cringe? Didn't you have to wear those awful things when you were a kid?

They deduct the kickback when you return them, but that's okay. I don't expect people to keep stuff that doesn't work for them!
And oldrpm, the alternative is wearing ugly shoes in the rain if you live in a city...and have you seen what shoes cost these days?!

Oh, I know. Just a minor childhood trauma. They are cute litte boots, though. My daughter might like them, although they wouldn't look too good on me.

Oh, don't be modest. I'm sure they'd look FABULOUS on you. :)

Maybe with my little pink business suit with the green bow tie...

If you're going to wear hideous boots, it makes more sense to get comfortable walking boots and then just change when you get to work.
The whole point of heels is so they can be seen and look good. These cover them up and no longer look good. In which case, why discomfort yourself?

I guess I see these as the worst of both worlds... the ugliness of galoshes combined with the discomfort of walking in heels!
I will say that I do like the color, though! It is a very pretty color.
