"Them Jews Ain't Going To Let Him Talk To Me"
Reverend Wright turns on his usual charm. David Squires writes for the Daily Press:
"Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me," Wright said. "I told my baby daughter that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office. ..."Ethnic cleansing is going on in Gaza. Ethnic cleansing (by) the Zionist is a sin and a crime against humanity, and they don't want Barack talking like that because that's anti-Israel," Wright said.
What is this, the adult version of the kid's game, "I know you are but what am I?"
The Israelis don't want to kill all the Arabs. It's the other way around. And the Israelis live in peace with many people who are not Jews -- any people who aren't looking to murder them for Allah, or whatever.
Meanwhile, on the subject of actual ethnic cleansing, in Darfur, the Revvie is strangely silent. I guess that's because Muslims are killing Muslims. (So inconvenient not to be able to blame the Jews!)
Dont most palistinians acctually live in Jordan?

Amy-
I saw this link this morning and thought it might interest you:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lincoln-mitchell/the-shooting-anti-semitis_b_214140.html
I was quite floored to see it, because it dovetails so neatly with the thoughts I posted at my own place. A quote:
"It is the regularity with which, in these comments and elsewhere, virtually every foreign policy issue is related back to Israel and somehow the Jews are blamed. Some friends and I play a game with foreign policy blogs on the Huffington Post where we try to guess how long it will take before Israel or the Jews are mentioned. Usually this occurs by the tenth comment, regardless of the ostensible topic of the piece in question. This is an obsession that is not healthy and goes beyond simply garden variety criticism of Israel."
This was up at HuffPo, no less.
(I should hatip Democracy Broadcasting for this.)

Lynne,
Wow, that's quite the editorial you linked to - thanks!
Prior to reading it, I was going to write this:
Isn't it interesting how during the election campaign if anyone "dared" bring up the peculiarity of Barack Obama spending 20 years of his life in Reverend Wright's church, they were immediately labeled as "racists" and "insensitive to Black issues in America".
How terribly convenient, eh?! Dare question Obama's close association with his hate mongering pastor and the entire discussion is immediately swept under the rug under the auspices of RACISM.
Now the latest chapter in Wright's demented life story is written. It's absolutely no different from the ones before yet there's no mea culpa from the Left, is there?!
Re Lynne's HuffPo story ... precisely the same B.S. is going on once again. An absolutely demented old man shoots up the Holocaust Museum and kills another human being. And the immediate response of the Left? Blame the "right-wingers"! Blame Rush Limbaugh. Blame Sean Hannity ... yet never in my life have I EVER heard conservative talk show hosts utter a derogatory word about Jews. Not once. Yet on the Rabid Left blogs (HuffPo, DailyKos, CBC News, etc.) criticism and blame of the Jews is a regular staple to feed their craven sick hearts. It doesn't matter what the topic, the Jews are always blamed by a legion of hateful Leftists. Always!
If "Denial" could be bottled, these folks would be billionaires!

Racists like Reverend Wright give blacks going to his church a bad name.
I wish African Americans like Thomas Sowell, Michael Steele and J.C. Watts got more publicity. These guts are good role models for African Americans versus Race pimps like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Louis Farakan.

The whole "Blame the Jews!" is so overrated but the damn thing seems to still have some traction. There's times when I wonder if the whole anti-Semitism thing is just another form of penis-envy. After all, if we look at the Jewish Faith as a whole, the impact of the human existence is far more larger than many other faiths (Including Islam).
On the other side, Blacks "Leaders" used racism statements against Jews before. Al Sharpton did it with abandon in the past. When you have little power, is there a better way to get yourself heard than turning into a racist rabble-rouser?

Ta-Nehisi Coates hosted a really good discussion of this at his blog at the atlantic. People came up with some interesting insights:
1) a narcissist who will do anything to get attention, even this.
2) a racist old black man, racist in the way chris Rock says all older black people are.
3) black resentment of the help Jews gave durting the CRM.
4) Black nationalist sympathy for the Palestinians and identification of Israel as a pawn of the US (which is a neat twist on the Zionists-are-running-America meme)
he runsd a very interesting blog and his commenters are worht a read, just by themsleves even. He grew up Black Nationalist and has grown way beyond that. he brings a very humane perspective to everything he comments on.

Later on in the interview, Reverend Wright says the following:
"I've got five biological kids. They all make mistakes and bad choices. I haven't stopped loving any of them. He [Obama] made mistakes. He made bad choices. I've got kids who listen to their friends. He listened to those around him. I did not disown him."
Delusions of grandeur, anyone?

I said it during the election. Obama had a 20+ year association with Wright. Obama took his children to Wright's church for a moral education. Obama believes the things that Wright preaches. Obama doesn't like the Founder's America, and he doesn't much like white folks either.
Obama: "White folk's greed runs a world in need."
'nuff said.
