Do You Watch This Slide Show And Walk Away Yawning?
Slides from Hasan's talk, published in the WaPo. Check out #42 on "The Verse of the Sword," commanding Muslims to slaughter the rest of us.
Numbers 32 through 34 are particularly comforting.
Salient quote #48: "We love death more than you love life!" (Note the "We.")
("Jinn," mentioned in the slide show, is a spirit being or demon. Disbelieving jinns are called "shaytans," or devils. I generally remember what "jinn" means by thinking of it as "genie.")
In the end, he swings around (very, very loosely) to a slide to help him pretend it's a talk in service of military knowledge of Islam -- not an hour getting off by spouting Islamic death porn before a live audience...a live audience of doctors...at least some of whom had to be psychiatrists.
My friend Howard Bloom, whose latest rethinking of human behavior, The Genius of the Beast: A Radical Re-Vision of Capitalism, comes out Nov. 24, gets it. He blogs at Psychology Today:
Nidal Malik Hasan's acts were in all probability very, very sane. But the roots of their sanity lie in a belief system that is alien to us. A belief system we have been fighting since at least 1993 when the first attempt on the World Center was made. That attempt was made by sane, rational, idealistic men. Men who believed in a compelling and widespread weltanschauung, a weltanschauung that wants to liberate the world. A consistent philosophy that wants to bring all of humanity justice and happiness. Militant Islam. A belief system that will continue to target you and me. A belief system we have to know if we are to counter it.Our nation performs its unique role in the world when it maintains its tolerance, when it maintains its ability to draw the best from cultures and peoples all over the planet and to bring them together in a common enterprise. But militant Islam uses that tolerance against us. In the Middle East and Asia, it hides behind civilians, stores its weapons in schools, mosques, and hospitals, and uses what one of the most influential interpreters of Islam in the modern world, the Ayatollah Khomeini, mockingly called "Your concerns, your 'humanitarian' scruples" against us.
Among those who are, apparently, too P.C. to want to get it in the slightest, are the editorial board writers at the Seattle Times:
There is no more justification for Hasan's crimes in Islam than there was in the religious teachings of McVeigh's Christian faith.
Note to editorial board writers: See above.

Was this prick ever asked to explain why he was putting (SAWS and SWT) after Allah. It is apparently strict adherence to an Islamic rule that one of these two variations (not sure the exact difference) be placed after the writing any variation of the prophet Mohammed or "Allah" and is the equivalent of (paraphrasing) "Peace be upon him".
I find it revealing that this scum-bag had the audacity to insert Islamic etiquette into his presentation.
Also, this editorial just in from the Seattle (Submission)Times. The worst excuse/apology manifesto yet for Hasan.

BTW, The total count for the Ft. Hood dead should be 14. No doubt for political purposes, none of the media outlets are counting the unborn child of the pregnant mother Francheska Velez who was shot in her back.
I think it is a shitty thing to do considering these circumstances. It was this mother's intention to have her child. I think that intention should be honored without having to split hairs with NOW or anyone's belief system on abortion and fetal fluid.
We don't even know how far along she was in her pregnancy, because the papers won't report it - my suspicion is that she was probably well enough along to not include it.

Amy beat me to the Seattle post. Nice catch!

I sometimes publish these as I'm writing them. This one made me so mad, I couldn't help myself.

I keep thinking that Islam, as it is currently practiced, is a gang. This gang has 1.2 billion members. It's a religious gang (sort of like La Familia in Mexico). It's more extreme members are misogynist, sort of like the whole gangsta thug "bitches and hos" thing, and the rest of the gang comes fairly close to that. The penalty for leaving the gang (apostasy) is reputedly death. The gang "territory" is most of the Middle East, parts of Asia and the Pacific, and Albania. The gang is in the process of slowly acquiring more "territory" in Europe.
mpetrie98 at November 12, 2009 1:49 AM
mpetrie98, that's an interesting way of looking at it... I'd compare it to (I think it's called) Folk Nation, a gang that is broken into several factions which war among themselves, but come together when facing an external enemy/mark/target of opportunity.

I gotta repeat myself: Characterizing Hassan as a loonie-sicko might be smart PR.
Why glamorize him as a terrorist, and an agent of Al Queda? Why give Al Queda anymore "street cred"?
The USA needs much better PR.
After all, under Bush we took down a thug-secular state in the Mideast--the old Iraq--and imposed a new, Shiite thug state. Victory! Mission Accomplished! No jihadist ever accomplished that! And, we established a opium-narco-Islamic state in Afghanie, thus funneling extra millions into Islamic radicalist coffers, in addition to Saudi money.
The USA, under Bush was the best friend the Islamics ever had. And, we spent a trillion dollars to do it, and 5,000 lives. And we are not done yet!
This new tact, calling the Hassans of the world koo-koo is not a bad tact. Less glamor, less honor, less reason to their actions (ty their lights). I like it.
Hassan as sicko-pervert. Keep it up.

OK, a few things here--not in any particular order--I just feel like spouting off...
1) People who say what's happening to the outrage against Hasan to "racism" are completely and entirely off their rockers. Islam is NOT a race. It is a religion. It is an ideology. It is a belief system. (I was recently accused by a fellow poster of being sexist and racist because I merely pointed out that homosexuality is a common practice among young Muslim boys. Still scratching my head over that one.)
2) The argument comparing the McVeigh/Christianity connection to the Hasan/Islam one is weak as hell. They are worlds apart. If that's the best the idiots at the Seattle Times can do, well, try again.
3) I have news for all who think that rushing to the defense of Islam and trying to isolate Hasan and his actions from his religion are going to make the Islamofacists go any easier on you. They despise you all the same. Attempting to kiss their asses will not get you anywhere unless you actually convert.
4) For the record, I don't hate Muslims as a group of people. What I despise is the twisted, sick poison that is the religion of Islam. It is destructive, backwards, violent, dangerous, despicable and oppressive.
Phew! Feeling better with all that off my chest. Thanks for letting me vent.

Poison is a good word for it. Amy, I read Howard Bloom's article. Yet another book on my wish list now.
I appreciate what he says about America's tolerance. I've read too many things about our intolerant we are.
Too bad we're so freaking tolerant that people like Anwar al-Awlaki can go right on feeding their poison to the hard of thinking.
Pricklypear at November 12, 2009 1:22 PM
BOTU - pretending that Hasan wasn't Al Queda is just hiding our heads in the sand. That does nobody any good.
Crusader at November 12, 2009 3:02 PM
Pricklypear - the maniacal libs want it both ways. They make sure that our society is overly-tolerant to the evildoers, but bitch every day about how intolerant those Christians are to minorities, gays, women, Muslims, etc.... It must be a charmed life, being a lib.
Crusader at November 12, 2009 3:09 PM
Crusader-
Sure, get Al Queda, wipe 'em out.
But do not glamorize, or ever recognize their efforts. Do not give them millions and millions of dollars of free publicity (like the dunce Bush).
Refer to any Al Queda agent as a loonie, sicko-pervert, weakling who broke under pressure.
Besides, Hassan may have been an Al Queda agent, but it appears not to have been a strong connection, In other words, it does not appear (at this time) he was placed by Al Queda in our military. He was loonie, and became attracted to AQ, and then called up some sick-o Islamic leader and talked.
If he was a true agent, I would guess he could have done more damage--wait until he was on a large aircraft, and shoot the pilots as the plane was landing, or get into a camp and set off bombs etc.
And remind Islamics we have established more Islamic state than any jihadist. Maybe next we can invade Turkey, take down the secular state and put in some Moslem rulers. That was our deed in Iraq.

Ever wonder how the bad guys get away with telling us every day what they are going to do, yet noone pays attention?
