I Hear Rude People
Another smart show. Bloomberg Radio's Kathleen Hays' interview with me will air on Wednesday, December 30, at 10 am PST/1 pm EST.
Listen through Sirius/XM Satellite radio (channels 130 and 129, respectively) or on Bloomberg.com. On the right side of the page, click the green link that says "live radio."

I'm really hopeful about your radio show, Amy. I've been a radio newscaster a couple of times in my life. Radio is really fun. You can look like total crap but as long as you sound fine, no one knows or cares.

Thank you -- I LOVE doing radio. I also have to book some national TV for the week I'll be in NYC (and Gregg will be at my place meeting Lucy's demands...heh heh)...Jan 15-22. I would sell my never-to-be born children for the e-mail address of the right producer to pitch at Joy Behar (not the head guy, but somebody lower) and other shows that would take me. It's perplexing to me that I've gotten very little national TV, and to a friend of mine who's a producer who tried to do a show with me (he called it "insane, nuts," etc. -- stuff along those lines) and I have to remedy that ASAP.
Just got word from my assistant that my book was one of the editors' picks at Bookends in Colorado -- on a special table, with a blurb recommending it, and there was only one left.
I found out some independent bookstores didn't even know to order the book -- Gregg went in to Book Soup here, and talked to the buyer, who is going to order it. But, they NEVER had one copy. Neither did the other indy, Skylight Books. Meanwhile, I was doing Patt Morrison's show here on the So Cal Public Radio station. Her listeners will shop at indy bookstores. Crazy. Oh, and neither City Lights nor Green Apple in SF had it either. Ever. Green Apple told me they'd order it. I called City Lights on Xmas, and didn't want to bog them down when they were so busy - have to call them back.
Need national TV to remedy this - without calling every bookstore across the country myself.
Arrrrgh!

You ARE assembling a clip tape of all your appearances, aren't you? And maybe record a dramatic reading of a few of your columns?
I want to be a cartoon voice actor when I grow up, so I'm living vicariously through you on this one.
