LA Times Festival Of Books
Hope you'll come see me moderate panels and talk about my book, Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25, on the UCLA campus. Tickets are free, available through Ticketmaster for a nominal processing fee. Details here.
Saturday, I moderate this panel:
3:00 PM
Memoir: All the Single Ladies
PANEL CODE: 1114
Moderator: Ms. Amy Alkon
Ms. Julie Klausner
Ms. Giulia Melucci
Ms. Sascha Rothchild
I'm not sure how I'm going to focus the session (all I get is the title), so feel free to make suggestions. What kind of stuff would you like to hear? Basically, these three women have written humorous memoirs about their bad relationships with men.
Sunday morning, I talk about my book, I See Rude People: One woman's battle to beat some manners into impolite society:
10:30 AM
Do the Right Thing: Life Lessons for Today
PANEL CODE: 2111
Moderator: Ms. Sandy Banks
Ms. Amy Alkon
Mr. Antwone Fisher
Mr. Tom Matlack
I'll be signing books afterward outside the hall.
And then, Sunday afternoon, I do an interview on the ETC. Stage:
1:30 PM
Walden Media presents Ramona & Beezus actress Joey King interviewed by Amy Alkon
I'm really excited to be a part of this again, especially since I'm there with my book this year. Come on out!

If I were going to fly across the country for this (sadly I am not) I would be interested in each author's takeaway from her experiences. We all enjoy the humor people pull out of bad relationships, as it always stieks a chord somewhere.
But ultimately, how did this impact your life Ms. Author? Did you learn something about yourself? Did this make you more discriminating in your evaluations of people? What is the long term impact on you and your relationships - do you think this experience made you better in a relationship or did it prove challenging to work effectively in a relationship down the line?

Thanks, Dorris. This is helpful.
I don't want this to be all Lifetimey TV -- want it to be something people get something out of, find interesting.
I wonder if people are interested in the aspects of writing memoirs, what makes a good one, etc. Or if the love stuff is more of interest.
