What's To Come In France And The UK Under Islam
The UK and France and other European countries have many Muslim immigrants and a much smaller population than we do in the US. In my lifetime, it's likely, with the Muslim birth rate, that these countries will go overwhelmingly Muslim. And here, as Xan Rice writes in the Guardian, is the sort of thing the remaining non-Muslims have to look forward to:

A majority of radio stations in southern and central Somalia today stopped playing music and jingles, to comply with a ban by Islamist militants.
Hizbul Islam, one of the two main insurgent forces in Somalia, issued the order on 3 April, saying music broadcasts violated Islamic principles. It gave FM radio stations - the main form of news and entertainment in the country - 10 days to comply or be shut down.

Islamic groups have previously outlawed music in some areas under their control, along with beards, football, movies, women's beauty salons and bras. The latest ban on all tunes - including those used in commercials - appears to be the most widely applied yet, and indicative of the rebels' ability to instil fear.

In the capital, Mogadishu, where there are 16 FM radio stations, only the government-controlled Radio Mogadishu, which is protected by African Union peacekeepers, and the UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan, whose studio is in Nairobi, resisted the order.

"I've listened to three of my regular stations today, and there's no music at all," said Abdulkadir Khalif, a Mogadishu resident. "There's not even a jingle."

Instead, some stations used birdsong or vehicle noises to introduce programmes. One of the broadcasters aired "a recording from a warzone" to signal the start of the news, as an ironic gesture, Khalif said.

A note on my header about the "remaining non-Muslims": the Quran commands the death or conversion of the infidel, so there may not be anybody non-Muslim; at least, not openly so.

I remember a few years back hearing Hillary Clinton on TV saying "George W. Bush is the greatest threat to women's rights in the world."

Without arguing in favor of President Bush, I can't believe anyone could say something so stupid. Is there seriously a rational American woman anywhere that would have traded the Bush Administration for the Taliban?

Assuming that the reporting is correct then their ban on beards doesn't even make sense. I remember reading in some area's of Afghanistan and Pakistan men are required by law to have beards. Hell Osama Bin Laden himself sports a huge signature beard. Along with most of OBL's top officers.

On the more serious side - is there any way to defeat Islam aside from killing its people?

You'd better get used to the idea, because a large number of Muslims think killing is the way to get you to do what they want.

Draining their oil wells dry would help.

Islam was a mortal threat to the West until 1683, when the Ottoman Army was decisively defeated at the Siege of Vienna. From that day onwards, the Muslim world sank into abysmal poverty & ignorance. No more existential threat, just nuisances like the Barbary pirates. They still had the desire & imperative for jihad, but lacked the means. That changed when oil was discovered in the Persian Gulf in the 1930s, and especially after the oil crisis of the 1970s. They'll run out of oil one day. The question is whether or not they'll manage to impose sharia law on the West in the meantime.

I always thought that if this country starts bowing to islam anymore than our cymbal-clapping monkey of a president does that i'm getting the hell out, but my options seem to be getting slimmer as the rest of the world turns into weenies, too. How pathetic....

Given that France is banning face-covering veils, hopefully extreme right-wing Muslims won't WANT to go there, and those who are really into covering up women will go home.

One can dream, no?

There's too much good info out there on this subject, and I'm not sure of Amy's rules on posting links, so here's two books on this subject that are amazing (if buying them, be sure to do it through Amy's Amazon links!!!):

America Alone, by Mark Steyn -- a really good book on this subject that goes into the research and statistics in good, factual detail.

Blood of Lambs, by Kamal Saleem -- Slightly controversial, but a good book by a former terorrist (full disclosure, I know him personally and like him a lot). Addresses the issue slightly.

This is a deliberate tactic as well. Remember, Yasser Arafat once said "The womb of the Arab woman is my strongest weapon." There are several Islamic groups that have openly stated their intent to VOTE Western nations into Islamic ones!
