Officer Shot By Two Scumbags...And Lives
Dashcam footage of the officer being shot, and the officer talking about what happened. Do you think these scumbags are in the country legally? If so, you would be wrong.
We are paying millions to keep Mexican and other Central American illegal alien criminals in our prisons. We should pop them on buses and send them directly to Mexico or their country of origin, so they can pay the cost of feeding and caging them.
No, we should not deport them.
You want to fix the illegal immigration problem make washinton act.
Publically offer that any illegal immigrant who turns them self in to athouritys will get a pass on ANY crime they have comitted short of rape or murder.
We they show up finger print them have them plead guilty to all crimes, give them probation and a plane ticket direct to Dulles.
Imagine thousands of criminal illegals landing in DC.
Wonder if the federal governemnt would take action then.

If we deport them without securing the border, they will come back!

Forget "Swine flu" - it's public stupidity that's pandemic. Patrick Smith says it well: "Not only have we become willingly subjugated cowards, we've clearly lost our minds."

I have actually seen this footage before and it makes me emotional every time I see it. I just can't imagine what kind of person you have to be to shoot someone like that, multiple times, at point blank range, then just drive away. *shudder*
Not to say that I don't agree, but in the defense of the justice system in this case, (yeah I know, I can't believe I just said that either) the shooters WERE deported before. Twice. Both times for criminal conduct. They kept getting back in. So the problem here isn't that they aren't being deported, it's with border protection. If they were deported they weren't going to be jailed in thier home country anyway so I would much rather have them sitting in jail, even if I am helping to fund it, then out and free to get back in the country and commit more crimes. It's a payment I am willing to make.
Sabrina at August 6, 2010 8:40 AM
I'm sure if a few illegals are lynched the government will get involved.
parbarbarian at August 6, 2010 9:54 AM
How many more injuries and deaths of our law enforcement officers and boarder state residents will it take for those spineless, brainless, low-lifes in congress to secure this friggin' boarder!?
And who says weed is a victimless crime?
If they want to come here, than they need to have the same attitude and work ethics as the other immigrants did before them. Become an American, work and pay taxes like everyone else - otherwise - Go home.
And we get to be choosy about who we let in, so that means no criminals. Any illegal past or present with a criminal record gets bounced. No temporary or permanent residence here, hermanos!
Feebie at August 6, 2010 9:55 AM
Because these guys had been deported and came back illegally, they ought to be considered outlaws who have no legal rights here and can be killed for sport if anyone wants to. Once the authorities determined beyond a reasonable doubt that these were the shooters in the video, and that they were deported illegals, they should have received summary execution, no appeal. The only reason for delay would be to allow the victim to recover enough to take part in the firing squad.

You're talking as if all criminals are foreign. The nation's border is actually a safe place.

I'm not a border expert, but I do know quite a bit about the illegal immigrant issues -- talked on The Filter on NBC about how illegal immigrants are using taxpayer paid education and health care and cost us big in incarceration.
But your first bit, "You're talking as if all criminals are foreign" is just goofy. This is one blog post, about illegals trying to murder a cop. I'm well-aware of other crimes committed by citizens in this country and blog about them with some frequency.

Pull our troops out of South Korea, put them on the border, orders: Shoot to wound. The few that crawl back alive will spread the word.

The bias giveaway in the link that you posted is this:
My question is what is draconian about the AZ law? It is almost a mirror of U.S. Federal Law without the right to stop you and ask for your papers for absolutely no reason. The INS can walk up to a white, blond, hotty and demand that she produce documents for no reason whatsoever.
Also the Federal immigration laws require a legal immigrant to carry their documents (green card) at all times already. That is not subverted by the Arizona law.
Another issue is that the border fence is not continuous. The sections that have a fence are doing ok. The sections without have a higher crime rate. But at the same time they are smaller cities.
Sometimes you need to get the real facts before deciding.
Jim P. at August 6, 2010 8:11 PM
If I understand the Arizona law properly, it's actually more lenient than the federal law. You have to be stopped by the police for another reason to be asked for your papers. And Arizona can be sued if they are disciminating.
One of the problems with ignoring people disobeying the law is that it can cause worse problems. Prohobition led to bootlegging and helped the mob make more money. The wishy-washiness of how the law is enforced doesn't help. People get killed when they're smuggled over the border, they get held for ransom by "coyotes". If we really need more people to do work that "Americans won't do", then we should let at least some more people in legally, if they're not criminals. Then we know who's here, and this should help cut down on the illegal immigration.
And we should be strict about enforcing the law and finishing the fence on the border. Mexico is a lot harsher than we are about illegals going over their border.

Amy, in my company we make things. We are currently under contract with one of your favorite companies, one of the companies you rave about all the time. I cant state specifics cuz it's confidential company policy. But anyways my whole company about 80% are illegal immigrants. So Amy a company you rave about all the time has a contract with a company that uses illegal immigrant labor.
However, the problem isnt illegal immigrants it's the people who HIRE them.
Ppen at August 6, 2010 11:48 PM
Remember the people who HIRE them, red blooded conservative Americans dont give a shit on how it drains tax payer funded social services as long as they can kick a profit. And yes, I've been in the biz long enough to know it aint liberals hiring them.

I'm against hiring illegal immigrants and I think people who do hire them should be prosecuted.
Amy Alkon at August 7, 2010 12:05 AM
You're thinking Ppen that liberal employers will not hire illegals?
Heh...or are you suggesting that few or no employers are liberals?
Or perhaps you mean that only conservatives try to make a profit?
As my wife might say...you're just "covering yourself with glory" on this one, ain't good.
Except of course your one EXCELLENT POINT, that it is the people who hire them that are the real problem. If illegals couldn't find jobs, they wouldn't come over illegally.

So all those Democrats who got busted for having illegals do their nannying and gardening were conservatives, eh?
