What Color Is Your Hypocrisy?
It's a diverse group, the global high priests of being green. You'll so often find them jetting -- yes, jetting -- around the world, on private jets, to preach about how saintly it is to save energy by CFL-lighting your house so it looks like a mental ward.
The latest preacher of green to get caught talking green while guzzling black gold is Jesse Jackson.
Jackson, Henry Payne writes in The Michigan View, had his Cadillac ESCALADE SUV stolen and stripped while he was in Detroit last weekend leading the "Jobs, Justice, and Peace" march promoting government-funded green jobs:
Read that again: Jackson's Caddy SUV was stripped while he was in town promoting green jobs.Add Jesse to the Al Gore-Tom Friedman-Barack Obama School of Environmental Hypocrisy. While preaching to Americans that they need to cram their families into hybrid Priuses to go shopping for compact fluorescent light bulbs to save the planet, they themselves continue to live large.
Living on less is for the little people, don'tcha know? Vrrrroom, vrrroom!
There is no greater hypocrisy than that exhibited by the high priests of the Environmental movement. I believe profoundly in something Dennis Miller has said: "Never trust prophets who earn a profit [from their fear-mongering]."
The best website I've ever seen that exposes this eco-hypocrisy is this one: Australian Climate Madness

Agreed, they are not being green. They should take economy seats for flying... hell, even first class would be better than a private jet! And the train for shorter distances like Boston/Washington. They should have their power at home generated by solar... they're the ones who can afford it, if they don't do it, who will?

You forgot to add in windmills. We all know the birds love windmills. :-p

I challenge any of these eco-bastards to live my life.
I have a small car, a small house, and I use fluorescent lights almost everywhere.
Al Gore uses more energy for his one fat ass in a month than I use ALL FUCKING YEAR.
And I actually add value to the economy, unlike his fat chakra-releasing ass.

Please note, I'm not complaining about my life - I freely chose all of it. I love my car, it's small and nimble (and fun to drive), and just happens to be pretty good on gas while it's at it. I bought a small house because I don't want to heat, cool, and clean a big one.
What I'm getting at is if you want to have a big house, then shut your fucking pie-hole about how awful it is that so many other people want a big house too.

And of course those windmills are all made in China. How's that "green jobs for Americans" thing working out for ya, Rev?
The irony is just dripping from this one. The thugs who did it probably vote for all of the candidates that the Rev endorses. Those candidates pour more taxpayer money into the don't-feel-like-working class so that they have more time and energy to go out and strip cars.
And it wouldn't surprise me to find out that the Caddy was a special deal for the Detroit trip... betcha the Rev has a Toyota Land Cruiser in the garage back in Chicago.

I was talking to a professor of environmental studies at a conference, and he claims that once you factor in the manufacturing of windmills they're not a green as people think. Especially as windmills for power cannot use any recycled plastics because they would reduce the effectiveness of power generation.

I wish someone would explain why someone can't dig up the money needed to put cages around those windmills, just as we have cages around small fans - to protect children!
Windmills are supposed to save money in the long run, no?

Don't bet on it:

I had my own little greengripe going on this morning, as I was shredding credit card applications. I was thinking about how they encourage people to save paper by paying online.
Meanwhile we probably average about three offers a week each, with an envelope, return envelope, terms, application, and usually an additional ad!

I still get annoyed at Al Gore's pretentiousness about it. People who talk the talk should walk the walk or shut up.
