How About "Crap That Makes You Fat"?
The makers of high fructose corn syrup want to improve its image by changing its name to "corn sugar."
For anybody who hasn't seen it posted here before, here's Dr. Robert Lustig on the evidence of how utterly damaging sugar -- of any kind -- is for the human body.

Without watching such a long video, is there anyone for whom this is news? It's like that "smart" bread I've seen advertised on TV as having "the taste kids love" but with 12 grains. It's white bread, but instead of having only bleached wheat, it has bleached 12 grains. You'd think people would be more savvy to this kind of thing by now, but apparently not.
You can call shit chocolate, but it's still shit.

I yell at the TV when those commercials come on. Because, you know, sugar is GOOOD for you! Huh? The HFCS manufacturers must have hired a political strategist to come up with that one.

I don't think "corn sugar" appeals to me any more than "high fructose corn syrup" does. Except that "corn sugar" sounds a little more natural and basic.
Kind of like calling "prunes" "dried plums". If you don't know that a prune is a dried plum...

Seems to me at least a few people (those who didn't know what "fructose" means) would get MORE turned off. Assuming they care about their health.

This was great to watch. Between this and the other video I watched last week about the importance of not talking to cops, I think I'm ready to go back to school! So much to learn!
