Have you heard about the efforts of the Chicago city council to The McDonald v. Chicago decision?
It means that the Second is incorporated -- i.e. it is as fundamental as the first amendment.
Huge cheers!!

Shamelessly pirated from a friend's message board.
Religion...is like a penis.
It's okay if you have one.
It's fine if you're proud of it.
But don't whip it out in public and start waving it around!
And don't shove it down our children's throats!
When I read this, I added, "And those who think that size doesn't matter are fooling themselves."

Well, Patrick, those who truly believe think parents who don't are setting their kids up for Hell. A little different than child rape, if you ask me.

That's the God you worship? He makes me ill.
You don't believe what I want you to believe in the way I want you to believe it? Then endure unspeakable agony for all eternity.
As for child rape to be so different from the concept of hell, THAT is debatable.

And on another note: Does anyone believe that CBS really cares?

It amazes me that we are so preoccupied with Afghanistan when we have a war going on with our border to the south...

I imagine you make him sad, if not ill himself, Patrick.

The study also showed that Americans have a fairly poor understanding of religions other than their own. Only about half of the people surveyed know that Martin Luther inspired the Reformation, the Dalai Lama is Buddhist, and Joseph Smith was a Mormon.

Think of our event as Woodstock, but with the nudity and drugs replaced by respectful disagreement; the Million Man March, only a lot smaller, and a bit less of a sausage fest; or the Gathering of the Juggalos, but instead of throwing our feces at Tila Tequila, we’ll be actively *not* throwing our feces at Tila Tequila. Join us in the shadow of the Washington Monument. And bring your indoor voice. Or don’t.

That rally sounds like fun. Kinda reminds me of when a bunch of hippies tried to levitate the Pentagon.

MeganNJ its been my experiance that religious people know little more about their own religion then the little they know about other religions.
You want a real discussion about religious dogma and history? Find an athiest

Better to be here instead:
http://www.keepfearalive.com/
"America, the Greatest Country God ever gave Man, was built on three bedrock principles: Freedom. Liberty. And Fear — that someone might take our Freedom and Liberty. But now, there are dark, optimistic forces trying to take away our Fear — forces with salt and pepper hair and way more Emmys than they need. They want to replace our Fear with reason. But never forget — “Reason” is just one letter away from “Treason.” Coincidence? Reasonable people would say it is, but America can’t afford to take that chance."

The story is the Comments, more than in the statement by the paper. They published a wedding announcement of a gay couple, & then turned around & appologized for it. Readers respond.
