Fly The Friendly Stay Home Unmolested In Your Living Room
I suspect more and more people will unless the TSA process gets unstupid and unsexually assaultive fast. Susan Stellin writes in The New York Times:
Giovanni Bisignani, chief executive of the International Air Transport Association, said in a speech at an aviation security conference in Frankfurt last week that the airlines would like to see an overhaul of the checkpoint screening process -- with a greater focus on finding bad people, rather than bad objects."Discouraging travelers with queues into the parking lot is not a solution," Mr. Bisignani said in his speech. "And it is not acceptable to treat passengers as terrorists until they prove themselves innocent."
Not in the country we used to live in, anyway.

"Not in the country we used to live in, anyway."
Remember that. Don't ever let someone assume you are guilty because you want to travel by airplane. The presumption of guilt is very difficult to shake, but unless it is, you will lose the ability to obtain a fair trial no matter how carefully the courts act. Yes, in your case. This is something you have to preserve for your use in the future!

The Obama/progressive approach is of course to exhibit extreme sensitivity regarding the "disparate impact" that the "bad guys" approach would have on minorities.
And then, after causing massive inconvenience and discomfort in a uniform manner, exemptions will be granted to politicians, NGO staffers, and other connected elite people.

You know who stops attacks on airplanes? Other passengers and the flight crews. Nobody is going to sit by and let 9/11 happen again. Everyone knows that the rules have changed.
Probably the smartest thing for the TSA to do would be to stop scanning us and just pass out box cutters at the gate. (I'm mostly joking. Mostly)

Calvin: These are interesting times. We don't trust the government, we don't trust the legal system, we don't trust the media, and we don't trust each other! We've undermined all authority, and with it, the basis for replacing it! It's like a six-year-old's dream come true!

Elle,
I'm not -- from the time you enter the property of the airport at your origin until you leave at the distant end you should have the right to carry a concealed weapon.
An armed society is a polite society. I don't believe in bullying -- but if you know or aren't sure the person next to can do you harm -- you have a different perspective.
Power to the sheeple.

Go to Drudge right now and see a photo of a nun getting frisked. You know you've fallen down the rabbit hole when....especially considering that Muslim women are being taught what to say so that they can plead religious-based modesty in order to not get frisked. Should/ would a Muslim woman have more rights than a nun?
Juliana at November 15, 2010 10:07 AM
The photo on Drudge is of a woman dressed like a nun. We readers have no way of knowing if that woman really is a nun. There should be no religious based exceptions to frisking.

I'm noticing this is starting to get a lot of media attention the last few days. Push is going to come to shove very soon. There's a group trying to promote a day of civil disobedience on November 24 -- they want anyone flying that day to refuse both the scanner and the grope search.

Sounds like a plan, Cousin Dave. If I were flying anywhere, I'd do it.

The radical Muslim/Islam terrorists have succeeded. We cower in fear, we allow our government to suspend 4th amendment rights in the name of security. We don't deserve the Freedom and Liberty we used to have, that had been paid for on the backs of those who rejected political correctness and tyranny.
