Mother Misses Flight Because Of TSA Idiocy About Her Breast Milk
Somebody commented negatively about my continuing to blog the power to abuse citizens granted to the TSA. This is an absolutely appalling display of it, with the woman imprisoned in a glass box while her flight is about to take off, and then is made to go through pointless measures clearly intended to be nothing more than harassment, and eventually misses her flight.
She requested the TSA's tape -- which came to her with 30 minutes of her ordeal missing: the parts where the TSA supervisor abused her in various ways:
More details here, in text form.

Absolutely, totally, completely stupid and unreasonable.
To anyone who thinks this women was a threat to anybody or is being unreasonable -- you need to be hit with a clue stick.
This is a case of "The authorities know the rules -- and we'll tell them to you as we make them up."

This woman is a threat to those who have assumed authority without the right to do so, and their expectation that we all respond like sheep, nothing more.

I sure hope La Leche league becomes involved. For some, breast milk is liquid gold and takes hours and plenty of pain to produce.
It is sick how this would probably never happen to someone who "fit a profile for a terrorist" (which we are not even allowed to have because it is politically incorrect) but the only way they could have gone more overboard to show their "political correctness" would be to have picked a natural blonde!
And interestinly enough, having flown outside the country since 9/11, several other countries do not have these "safeguards" in place. So what about the incoming flights?
Additionally, having young children since 9/11, I can tell you that we were unable to fly because of the safeguards, and since I have high order multiples, we spent thousands on plane tickets that we have never been able to refund!
All of this is just for show. To harrass some to look like the safety is being handled, but to not look into the "likely dangerous" people, to show that there is no prejudice. I think the thin hope is that terrorists will be scared off by the examples...
This whole thing is just sick!
Thank you Amy for pointing out this flagrant disregard for private citizens (while our safety is really not being handled at all!)

Everything about this is wrong from how they violated their own rules, to keeping her in that box and not helping her at all, to even having that box in the first place with not even a bench in it.
But should someone find out that as is alleged they singled her out for punishment because of her prior complaint, then they should all be fired, if not charged with unlawful arrest / kidnapping.
By the way, she's really hot, and if anyone has her number, I don't mind kids.

Hey, why should the IRS have all the fun?

what a bunch of useless ,ignorant, f*cks; bunch of overly selfimportant pu**ies. Terrorists are the least of the worries these idiots have, some passenger, or passengers, are going to have had enough and mop the floor with some of these idiots. A well placed leg sweep and several of these ignorant cows and eunuchs would be on the floor writhing in pain. Deservedly!

The government is brazenly displaying its rigidity and stupidity in public. Keep in mind the hundreds of government agencies which apply similar stupidities in thousands of ways upon millions of businesses and people. Each such stupidity costs some income, or a job, or an opportunity to create something.
Businesses are not perfect and they are sometimes stupid. When they are, you can buy from someone else. What can you do if the government is stupid? You can only decide to limit from the start what the government controls, and elect representatives who see their time in office as a contribution, not the beginning of a career.

Everyone has two senators and a representative.
The best way to get a politicians attention is "physical" mail -- not email.
Sending a youtube link on paper is essentially ineffective because how many politicians (or their staff) would/will type in the link to youtube (or anywhere else) from a sheet.
These random thoughts get to a point. What if everyone were to download the various youtube videos to a USB memory stick like the Patriot Signature 2GB USB 2.0 Portable Flash Drive. (That just happened to be at the top of the list in my Amazon search, but so appropriate.)
Then you send the compilation on the memory stick, certified mail, to your senators and representative along with the letter mentioning the Fourth Amendment, the pettiness, the total theater of the system, etc.
From there -- that gives you an idea from their response whether they took a look. The Harry Potter effect also applies -- they get 25 USB sticks and don't react -- you know they aren't listening to you.

I am not a frequent air traveler, but I hate these new regulations. All of it makes my stomach turn. ANY time I do fly in the future I will be an "opt out."
I saw Brenda K's comment about La Leche League, thought it was brilliant, and then after a few mere seconds of googling, I found this woman's account on YouTube. I messaged and asked her if she'd mind if I wrote a letter and sent her links to La Leche League. She doesn't.
So, consider it done.

Gross.

Jim, odds are your usb memory stick idea would get you arrested for trying to infect government computers (the staffers) with viruses/trojans. To cover up the nasty stuff the staffers get daily while watching porn.

Hey, the way things are going -- its about the only way to know that you are going to have something to eat and a place to sleep. ;-)
