Faces In The Crowd, Paris
A few from our walk the other day, in the Marais and thereabouts:

(Gregg says that last one is him at Galeries Lafayette, a big department store here that I had to run into yesterday.)

At least when they close up a business, they have the style to paint the boarded up windows.

I think that's just an unused entrance.

My second most vivid memory of Strassbourg is the sign in the Cathedral commemorating the Americans who gave their lives to free the city. For some odd reason, that sign was the only one without a German translation.
The most vivid memory was the French police busting a pickpocket in the square. The guy was trying to run, and there must have been a dozen undercover cops all over him. I don't think "police brutality" translates...
I also remember the French soldiers in the train station. They had packs that mules would have trouble carrying, and one of them was a young lady who made the very petite Mrs D look big.
It's usually not the big things that create the most lasting impressions.

I had one, but one is part of a wood door and it killed the stone joke. Feel free...

Also, if any of you were wondering how to make a middle-aged man snicker about the commercial stupidities of a wasted youth, this is how it's done.
'Spoze we'll live long enough to see this happen to Gaga?
