Cynthia McKinney Hearts Qaddafi
Richard Pollock at PJ Tatler digs up a speech the whack-job rep made in 2009:
"Colonel Khadafy should be highly commended for honoring our ancestors - the framers of true democracy - by reaching out from Africa to the entire world. We would like to thank him for this opportunity to discuss his thoughts as presented in the Green Book."We are here to listen and observe, then to support and carry forth the ideas of democracy and equality, universal principles embodied in the Green Book, the goal of our effort being to link and empower Black, indigenous and oppressed peoples world-wide for the betterment of our earth and all of its inhabitants."

That idiot has been a loud embarrassment her entire career.

Cynthia McKinney is a lunatic. I'm embarrassed that my home state could ever put someone like that in office, even though I was never in her district.
I know several people who voted for her, and the only argument that even came close to making sense was that McKinney was in favor of gay rights. Although, I'm not sure what she ever did for gay rights other than making the occasional statement in front of the right audience. Most people just kept voting for her because she was the incumbent, and one of my friends seem to enjoy how much she irritated the white voters.
Hopefully her 2008 bid for the presidency was the last of her political career.

I read some of that speech at the link, and what I've read simply confirms that this woman is as loony as Qaddafi himself!
Looney-Looney-Looney!

No matter which side we end up with in Libya (or the rest of the Middle East right now) we are so fucked.
The Muslim Brotherhood is out to screw us.
The current dictators are a losing bet. Supporting them will only put the explosion off -- not stop it. We can't really blow either side off the map without long term repercussions. And even short term.
Obama and crowd have essentially stopped pumping and drilling in the Gulf, ANWAR, and exploration in just about the rest of the continental US.
