This is a very good introduction to good/bad science. I would have liked to see more about the scientific method, but if everyone would understand what was presented her, that would be sufficient.

I'd been trying for a year or so to convince my husband that carbs are a health threat and fat is not. He knows plenty of people who have lost weight (and are healthier) on low-carb diets. I got Good Calories, Bad Calories and read sections out loud to him. He still argued that fat is bad, grains are good. The fact that I have a BMI of about 18 (and I rarely eat bread or rice), and he has about 20 pounds to lose (and loves sandwiches, potatoes, and grains in general), also didn't sway him.
So, he watched "Fat Head" a week or two ago on streaming Netflix and has finally come around to the belief that carbs are bad. So, good for Tom Naughton.

There's a recently released movie called "Forks Over Knives." I haven't watched it yet, but based on the trailers, it sounds like a vegan/vegetarian propaganda movie. There's still so much horribly biased nutritional information out there, it's scary. Add to that other media jumping onto the hype. Roger Ebert write a column about the movie headlining it as "...a film that could save your life." blechh.
I've forwarded "Fat Head" to a lot of my friends. It's on Hulu and you can watch it for free. One of my friends was so thankful for the information he told me he made a donation to Tom Naughton's site.

As a moderating voice of reason in this debate, please be aware that I am planning a new documentary aimed at bringing both sides to a palatable middle ground.
