A view from my walk on Wednesday morning. 
You can feel pretty crappy some morning, and if you live in California, all you have to do to get your spirits up is take a walk.

I've always liked the way so many people in California make the most of their small yards.

That's why I jog- to look at other people's awesome houses. I live about 2 miles away from one of the oldest, nicest neighborhoods in town, so I like to get out there and fantasy house shop. Today's loop includes a pre-civil war mansion and a "castle" that used to be a cistern.

We (Lucy and I) met a lovely English lady today who gave her a little treat, and yesterday, we talked with a very nice elderly man and his wife who I usually only see when passing their house in my car.

Nice place for the Venice bangers/muggers/burglars to hide. Nice fire hazard. Nice propensity for insurance claims so your homeowner/renters insurance will be cancelled. Nice place for rats to hide. Nice place for the vegetation/dampness to cause wood rot. Nice place for spiders and other bugs. Nice place to not conserve water. Nice place for tetanus. Nice place for pitbulls to eat yorkie pie. But it's Venice so what.

Hmm. We better get those rain forests cut down fast! Think of all the water that vegetation uses!
I mean, really! What use is foliage, anyway? I can't buy cheap Chinese appliances in the weeds! A Starbucks would be super cool there. It's almost a half mile to the one I know about, and that's just too far!
