Never Hurts To Ask*
A Marine Corps sergeant asks Mila Kunis to the Marine Corps Ball -- and she says yes!...urged on by Justin Timberlake:
(*Best to avoid asking feminist atheists. You can identify them by the frequent use of the word "misogyny" to describe normal male/female interactions...like a man verbally expressing interest in a woman a single time and then accepting it and going away when she lets him know she is not interested.)
I'm a Friend of the Corps, myself.

Brilliant!
I wonder how many feminists reading this, jealous bitterness gurgling in their throats, wonder if they could make a plausible shrieking accusations of sexism. He asked her out, like a piece of meat! Sexist!!111
Primateus at July 11, 2011 8:29 AM
ADORABLE!!
I don't know which one of them to be more jealous of!
Choika at July 11, 2011 8:40 AM
I wonder if this guy was assigned to protect opium fields of warlords loyal to Karzai. Some Marines have pulled that duty.
BOTU at July 11, 2011 9:23 AM
Reading this made my day! Hope they have a great time!
Sonja at July 11, 2011 9:45 AM
Butthead, stfu, the marines do what they are told, stop your never ending anti american rant. Why don't you fucking renounce your citizenship and off yourself, the world will thank you. As far as this marine, god bless him,and thank mila for doing a great service for this young man and the other marines who will be at the ball
ronc at July 11, 2011 10:37 AM
Ronc-
Since when is wanting to preserve American tax dollars "anti-American"?
Since when is wanting to stop American occupations of distant lands--the very essence of "foreign entanglements" our Founding Fathers despised--"anti-American"?
When did it become "American" to establish Islamic governments-not secular governments--supported by opium sales? When did it become American to send young men to prop up Islamo-narco states, and lionize their efforts?
BOTU at July 11, 2011 10:53 AM
I'll sign up if Isla Fisher will go to the ball with me...
Eric at July 11, 2011 11:25 AM
Balls. He has 'em. And thank goodness because the day our soldiers lose the guts to so much as ask a woman out is the day we lose our country.
Way to go Mila! Do it for our country!
Sings: Yeeeeah, let's do it for our Country.
The red white and the blue.
It's Uncle Sam who's asking,
so your mother will approve.
Tomorrow I'll be fighting,
and I'll win this war for you.
Let's do it for our country,
our country wants us to

Awesomenees :)
This also made my day. I like Ms. Kunis more and more.
LL at July 11, 2011 11:50 AM
I went to the Ball with my college sweetie's brother. It was awesome. Good for Mila. Unsurprising a marine has the balls to ask people out.
momof4 at July 11, 2011 11:50 AM
Everything I have heard about Ms. Kunis is wonderful. And this is just another example.
Cat at July 11, 2011 12:54 PM
I didn't know who was Milas Kunis, so I looked her up on Wiki.
I hope she gives the Marine a blow job, and not just a good-night air kiss.
Odd how the names Justine Timberlake and Milas Kunts are used in the blog--but the Marine's name?
BOTU at July 11, 2011 3:07 PM
Butthead please die already, I have two nephews who have served multiple yours in Afghanistan and they went on missions and participated in the building of schools, waterworks, and roads, along with killing the bad guys. You are an idiot who reads a few news commentaries and thinks he knows something. You don't know shit and you are not an American
ronc at July 11, 2011 3:24 PM
Ronc:
Explain the No. 1 industry in Afghanistan.
Explain why we have established an Islamic state in Afghanistan, with taxpayer money.
Explain why this Islamic state of Afghanistan executes people who convert from Islam to Christianity.
Explain why our military is playing US Peace Corps--with taxpayer money.
Explain who are the "bad guys" in Afghanistan--and how do they differ from the good guys? (Besides having better opium). And if there is a difference, why is it any business of me and other taxpayers?
Explain why we do not occupy Upper Volta.
BOTU at July 11, 2011 3:51 PM
Why should I explain the obvious you twit
ronc at July 11, 2011 4:13 PM
BOTU, if you want to win without compromise, play a board game.
In the REAL world, we can't 'only' work with nice people.
Would you have had us refuse help to Stalin in fighting germany?
Realpolitic is brutal. And by the by, failure to embrace it results in total failure.
Robert at July 11, 2011 4:18 PM
I think it's awesome that he asked her, and I think it's even more awesome that she accepted. I bet they have a great time.

What part of spending $3+trillion to set up creepy, crappy unstable Islamic states like Iraq and Afghanistan is not "total failure"?
Of course, your argument may be good enough to convince Americans to spend another $3 trillion there--and some argue we must.

Way to shit on a heart-warming story BOTU. I knew you were a classless asshole but goddamn it can't you just take your pet topic, somewhere else and let the rest of us go "d'awwwww, isn't that nice."

Wouldn't it be cool if they ended up making a good match together? Yeah, it is a lark for both of them but you never know what will happen in matters of the heart.
And it sure won't hurt her career any either way.
And BUFU, the answer to most of your questions is an obvious one that everyone else understands. It is 9/11. You may have slept in that day but it was all over the news for a while.
Karzai's regime is corrupt but it is less likely to support groups who fly planes into our buildings. It helps also that it doesn't execute stadiums full of people or murder little girls for going to school. And if you think things were better for Christians under the Taliban then you haven't been paying much attention. Even so, we aren't there to teach the barbarians to be civilized, though we are decent enough to try and should have demanded it in Musa's case (Obama was busy going after a Florida pastor for burning a Koran instead of Afghanistan for killing a Christian... go figure). We are there to eliminate a threat.
Short of forced conversions to Christianity, or atheism, or Scientology the ME will always be barbaric. That is Mohammed's legacy to the world. That is why all of the leaders there are religious fanatics or strongmen riding herd on religious fanatics except where the West has imposed a different model -- but that requires the sort of meddling you are against. It's kind of a catch-22.
And the cost of both wars over the past ten years is closer to $1 trillion than $4 trillion according to US News. A lot, but still less than the jug-eared freak runs up in new debt during a single year in order to produce exactly zero new jobs.
And thanks for shitting all over a feel-good thread. I am pretty sure someone, somewhere is having a bit of fun that you can prevent if you hurry along quickly enough. If not, there is always $350 wine to bitch about.
Voluble at July 11, 2011 10:25 PM
BOTU, how much do you think it should cost?
I will say I dislike the, 'mission creep' but that aside, your expectation that we work only with beacons of virtue is as naive and childlike as I could possibly picture.

After giving the Marine an air-kiss good-night (and thus, from a man's point of view, the kiss-off), Mila Kunts should come to my place and give me a blow-job.
As a taxpayer, I am the one paying the Marine's salary, and the $3.2 trillion we have spent on Iraqistan. I will also pay for the Marine's lifelong pensions and health benefits.
Mila Kunts, Alkon says she knows who I am, and so you can reach me. My big dick is waiting.

An out-of-character, serious reply for you:
This is a cute anecdote story about a nice solider, a Marine, probably a nice guy. He happens to be in an occupying military, financed by taxpayers, to the tune of about $1.5 trillion so far. He also happens to be propping up a deeply corrupt, narco-Islamic state. Where they execute Christians, and have Sharia law.
Anecdotes? How about this one:
"Nine Afghan Boys Collecting Firewood Killed by NATO Helicopters
By ALISSA J. RUBIN and SANGAR RAHIMI
Published: March 2, 2011
Nine Afghan boys collecting firewood to heat their homes in the eastern Afghanistan mountains were killed by NATO helicopter gunners who mistook them for insurgents, according to a statement on Wednesday by NATO, which apologized for the mistake."
Now, nine Afghan boys getting massacred not a cute anecdote.
The problem is that most people gravitate to the anecdotes that serve their biases. A cute story about the Marine somewhat neutralizes the reality of the occupation, at least for a gullible public.
The ghastly massacre story is repeated by those who want us to get out of Afghanistan immediately.
I am only suggesting we not resort to sappy anecdotes.

""Marines are sexy."
Dad was one in WW2, and I have a picture of him that three different women wanted to borrow.
Gee, I don't know why...
BOTU, if you put yourself out there, maybe there will be someone for you.
Just --- not a Marine.
Radwaste at July 14, 2011 3:49 PM
My son is a marine and was over here visiting last week. It was an awesome visit. Anyway, we went out for a beer one night and within ten minutes he had several women taking a run at him. It must be something about the confidence that the rigorous training gave him. Not to mention, he's a good looking guy (thanks to his mother).
Oh, and those calling BOTU un-American? Fuck off. There isn't a damn thing un-American about expressing discontent with policy. I don't happen to agree with him either, but he's as American as I am.
