One thing I liked about the Obama inauguration was knowing that there'd be no more smarmy jokes from Bill Clinton's supporters that his deep emotional connection to downtrodden voting blocks made him "America's First Black President." (See entry #1, even today.) Instantly, and for the rest of time, there was nothing charming in saying that, no matter how presumably well-intentioned.

You know what his being white has absolutely nothing to do with this song/video being so terrible. The beat is pretty cool mind you, and the chorus isn't bad either. But his presentation and the video itself are horrible (and I honestly wonder if that is his voice). That could have Lil' Wayne in that video it still would have been f'n terrible.

It was a success. I think it's the only rap video you've blogged about this year, and it's certainly the only rap video I've watched for many months.

I watched it all the way through and enjoyed it. He's having a fun time with his friends and the rhythm isn't bad at all. I think you're all looking at it as though here's a guy that's trying to break into the billboard charts.

He's just having a lot of fun with a quirky project and that comes through in the performance. And by the way, he's living the life. Don't be hatin'.
