The Supposed El Cajon "Hate Crime" Is Looking A Little Hinky
There are very few incidents of discrimination against Muslims in this country -- it's Jews and Jewish organizations' buildings that are discriminated against and vandalized. (There are reportedly 10 times more hate crimes against Jews than Muslims.)
Also, El Cajon isn't reported to be a source of discrimination (can't find where I read that now). I thought the reported "hate crime" against a Muslim woman sounded a bit suspicious. Now, it's sounding even more suspicious. Colleen Curry writes on abcnews.go.com:
Police investigating the murder of an Iraqi mother in southern California, initially thought to be a hate crime, have filed papers with a court that suggest the mother had a difficult relationship with her daughter and her husband. The beating death last month of Shaima Alawadi, 32, of El Cajon, shook the Iraqi-American community when her family reported that a note was found next to Alawadi's body, reportedly saying "go back to your own country, you terrorist."
Alawadi's 17-year-old daughter, Fatima, told police that a similar note had been found a week prior to the murder, but the mother thought of it as a joke and threw it away. Court documents now show that the note was a copy of an original, and the earlier note has never been seen.
The family, including Fatima and Alawadi's husband, are now in Iraq, where they went for Alawadi's burial.
According to court documents obtained by ABC News affiliate KGTV, the daughter received a text message while she was being interviewed by investigators that read "The detective will find out tell them cnt (can't) talk."
Fatima, who was reportedly the only one home with her mother when the attack happened, had a troubled relationship with her mother, the documents show. In November, police had contacted Alawadi after finding Fatima having sex with a 21-year-old man in a parked car. Alawadi had picked her daughter up from the scene, but Fatima then jumped out of her mother's car going 35 mph, the documents state.
Fatima was also distraught over her pending arranged marriage to a cousin, according to the documents.

I live in El Cajon and there is no wide spread animosity against people of Arab descent here. I know of no hate groups and I see no graffiti or hear any hate messages. For the most part we get along just fine.
This story just does not make sense and like Judge Judy says, If it doesn't make sense it isn't true..

Unhappy with an arranged marriage, caught having sex in a car.
Where is her boyfriend? he's wouldn't be my primary suspect, but he'd be in the top 5.

Based on the facts that I know so far, we have the woman bashed in the head six times with a blunt object, with her 17 yr old daughter in the house upstairs. A sliding glass door was broken with the glass not in the house but outside meaning the glass was broken from inside the house. The perp comes in the house, breaks the glass from inside the house, hits the woman 6 times in the head, takes the time to find a pen and paper to write a note with the daughter still in the house who didnt hear anything whatsoever. The guy writes the note and leaves. The daughter comes downstairs to find her mother injured. We know the mother wanted a divorce from the father and the daughter didnt want to marry her cousin (incest). This was no "hate" crime, this was a hate crime as in all crimes are hateful whatever your motivation. Bottom dollar, the person who did this was a member of that family, probably the father, although it could have been the daughter. Think back to Legally Blonde and the courtroom segment where the daughter was in the shower and didnt hear the gun go off. What was this daughter doing when the glass was breaking and her mother screamed? If they find out that one of the family members did it, are they then not going to prosecute it as a hate crime just because the perp is of the same race? It shouldnt matter

if the dad or daughter committed the murder, they should be prosecuted for a "hate" crime because they wrote the note regardless if they are of the same race. This was a totally staged murder. I recall the daughter acting weird in an interview wearing her sunglasses so you could not see her eyes.

This happened just after the gruesome Toulouse festival of anti-semitic child murder and got a lot of national media play specifically as a counterpoint to Toulouse. Like, see? Arabs and Muslims are hated and murdered by people of other religions too. It seemed a little too convenient to me but I withheld judgment (and continue to withhold judgment) until more facts are revealed. Not so with the national and international media who are so eager to minimize and disguise the grotesque virulent hatred of Jews here and abroad. And that, in itself, is grotesque.
On a related topic: wonder when, or if, we'll ever see the Khalidi tape?

Oh, well it's no big deal then. Iraqi women, listen up: If you want your life to have value and meaning, make sure you get murdered by a white guy.
