Rape Charges For 14-Year-Old For Consensual Sex
Brandie Piper writes for KSDK:
A 14-year-old boy faces rape charges after being accused of having sex with a 12-year-old girl at school. The incident allegedly happened during school hours.
Both say it was consensual, but that doesn't matter under Ohio law.
...Now the boy is charged with rape because the girl is under the age of 13.
"I think it's a shame and if he's going to be charged she should be charged too because they both knew what they were doing," said Moore.
As Wendy McElroy writes at iFeminists, where I found the link, how about NEITHER be charged? Which is how things would be in a sane world.

Too bad this didn't happen in Sacramento, where the age of consent seems to be whatever the sheriff's department says it is.

Screw space-we need to start a search for intelligent life on this fucking planet

Wow this is so out of control. gmiller I completely agree. Intelligence and common sense are a very rare thing anymore. People who can actually think for themselves rarer still. My daughter (15) commented the other day that common sense is so rare that it should be considered a super power.

Whatever police, prosecutors and social workers are involved in this don't have nearly enough real work to do. Not that they would do much of it if they did. I wish that they could all be fired and replaced with half as many adults with normal intelligence and common sense.
@Melody: good insight from your daughter.

I'm telling you people we need a gobal plauge. The weak and stupid are the first to die. Much eiasier to find intellegent people when most of the morons are dead in the street

Mankind, ignorant of the truths that lie within every human being, looked outward–pushed ever outward. What mankind hoped to learn in its outward push was who was actually in charge of all creation, and what all creation was all about.
Mankind flung its advance agents ever outward, ever outward. Eventually it flung them out into space, into the colorless, tasteless, weightless sea of outwardness without end.
It flung them like stones.
These unhappy agents found what had already been found in abundance on Earth—a nightmare of meaninglessness without end. The bounties of space, of infinite outwardness, were three: empty heroics, low comedy, and pointless death.
Outwardness lost, at last, its imagined attractions.
Only inwardness remained to be explored.
Only the human soul remained terra incognita.

@Crid: Good response to lujlp. Almost sounds like he has a death wish. ;)

I remember a case in Iowa years ago where the prosecutor charged two 13 year olds with molesting each other. He dropped the charges a week or so later after there was a public outcry.
