You deserve it Amy! You have a smart column and blog that is also humorous. You deserve the recognition. Not every columnist interacts with the comment. I've said it before and its worth repeating. It is refreshing to read a column in which all opinions are welcome. Debate is always invited and not in a silly name calling way. I hope you sweep the awards!

You need these additional trophies on your shelf. But you have a large core that always wants to support you.
I found you years ago in the Dayton rag, and have enjoyed you ever since.
Congratulations!!

It's $140 a seat -- for the discounted member price. Gregg said he'd pay if I want to go, but I can't justify spending nearly $300, and especially not in a terrible economy.
Last year, my editorial assistant, Stef Willen won, too, for her wonderful McSweeney's column, "A Total Loss," and I was there to see her get her awards, and that was fantastic. (She's a finalist again for her columns for this year, which is doubly fantastic.)

Great news! Keeping my fingers crossed you'll get noticed Back East, too (hopefully you won't be reviewed by Dominique Browning, though):
"I no longer take Great Literature on the road. It belongs nestled in my arms, deep in a comfortable chair by a crackling fire, where I can tend lovingly to every detail it whispers, where I can pay close attention to the dexterous play of intelligence and the lilting nuance of verbal agility."
