And is that real gold? I mean, is it all 18k or better, or is it faux gold? Plated, even. Ya never know.

Here's a useful comparison.
Look at the price of gold from 1999 until now.
(Goes in a steady upward curve.)
Now do the same thing with the S&P 500.
(Goes from way up, to way down, way up, way down, and so on several more times, until ... it winds up right back in the same place.)
Which one would give you bigger headaches?

I live in a part of California where even white grandmothers have dreds.
The headline, if I must dissect it for you, is a combination noting both her hair and her gold, both of which I found striking and extraordinary.

Bleh. I hate white hippie dreadlocks.
Kind of like afros. I can't stand them on white people- but Lenny Kravitz and black women look stunning with that style.
It seems like white metal was "in" forever and now yellow (and rose) gold is making a comeback. Husband wants me to start wearing more yellow gold. I'm pushing for a yellow gold and diamond eternity band for our 10th anniversary... and he has plenty of time to save up, because it's in 2014. (I'd love to get him a vintage gold Rolex, and maybe a new gold wedding band with some really subtle bling like small diamonds or onxy or something.)

At first I thought she was wearing pants under a skirt...which reminded me of something I saw the other day which I hope is not a trend. Guys were thrashed cut-off jean shorts over tan dress pants.

The black girl with the dreds and gold, did not strike me as odd. It was the old white dude on a bike next to her. Plus her the look on her face and his face. Such an odd couple and must be an interesting story their.
