Don't Put Your Hello Kitty On The Microwave
Photo by Gregg Sutter, who was traumatized by this display at his favorite electronics store, suggesting the near-complete Hello Kittification of America.(Like me, Gregg now eats his steak cooked "still faintly mooing," but when it comes to his electronics, Gregg is a Vegan. He gave me his fabulous 15-inch MacBook Pro, and even bought me the Banksy Schticker I wanted for the back -- but he made me wait for him to leave to put it on, because he couldn't bear the thought.)

They're at Target, too. My daughter was very interested in them. We explained that a two-year-old doesn't need her own microwave. I think she understood.

I suppose it better than putting your Hello Kitty in a mircowave, but not as good as putting the Hello MicroWave in your kitty

I tried to get rights to print a pic of this Hello Kitty assault rifle in I See Rude People, but the girl who Photoshopped it into existence was afraid of being sued by Sanro.

My 13-year-old is a Hello Kitty fan, although I tried to explain to her that Hello Kitty gained her current lofty status through a combination of viciousness, backstabbing, and guile (she is a cat, after all). In that light, the assault rifle is entirely appropriate.

yeah, for my money, the Hello Kitty Chainsaw is a much more useful item...
and seriously you guys dunno the half of it... in Asia, kitty-chan is an empire unto herself, jets and motor oil, and spas and resturaunts. But 10yr olds dun' care about that.
They just think she's cute, and my daughter has a ton of different things. though now that she's almost 13, her tates are changing a bit. Now she likes penguins.

"Now she likes penguins."
Has she gone all goofy over that Justin Bieber yet? There was some kind of Bieber special on NBC one night last week, which meant my chances of watching the ball game were entirely shot.

nah she's a book/scifi/anime/arty kinda girly... and she has expressed nothing but derision for made-up idols...
and she's prolly too embarrassed to mention who she really likes... cuz' I'm the papamann after all ;)

I want a hello kitty rifle. I just thought the pink one at Academy was cool! The tackier the better. I adore tacky-ness for personal accessories-I carry a snakeskin folder and hot pink fluffy pen with me to class every day.

I can't recall the show this appeared on, but I will never forget the photos from Lady Gaga's Hello Kitty shoot.

I'm not a collector of Hello Kitty, but I would soooo buy a Hello Kitty gun. And possibly lingerie, although I'm not sure if that would creep out my target audience.

Yeah, you can BUY it, but unless you're being ironic you won't want to plug it in at a metal show:

Still, volume-only hardtail bolt-neck with only a bridge humbucker - that's pretty raw for a pink kitty strat.

But can it cook bacon to a nice crispiness is the real question.

Raising 2 girls I've had my share of Hello Kitty and Choco Cat and all their little kawai friends littered about the house, hell, I even have a HK padded sleeve for my iPad. Because, kawai.

I'm amazed at hello kitty's staying power.
I didn't care for her.

Gog, I wonder if you could play "Stray Cut Strut" on that...
(And yeah, a one-pickup Strat... with a humbucker no less... that's just wrong.)
