I suppose that might be handy to have, though I doubt my phone would support it. I remember doing it the unautomated way once -- I had to attend an extremely boring meeting, and arranged for my boss to call me after an hour or so, thus giving me the chance to escape.

As far as the app goes, I'm just glad it (or cell phones) didn't exist when I was a teenager. It would have taken me forever to figure out why girls's phones would ring just as I was asking them to dance!

I have an old regular phone and I can set an alarm to go off for a certain time and make the ring the same as the one for a phone call.

One of the only good things about pregnancy - once you are showing, you can leave almost ANYTHING at ANY time. Everyone assumes you either have to pee, are going into labor, or are about to puke... and they are ALL glad you're doing it elsewhere.
