Some people LIKE having authority figures invade their personal space and assist in bringing personal bowel movements to it's proper hygenic close.
It's likely the same people who live off the governement teet, and don't pay in - are also the ones who have no problems allowing mental midgets from the TSA to swab their assess and fondle their testicles.
They are grown children.
THEY LIKE IT - they expect it and they sure as hell ain't the people getting in trouble for resisting.

Gentle Zephers for Raddy!
Thanks in part to technologies like horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracking, we are entering a new age of abundant oil. As the energy expert Leonardo Maugeri contends in a recent report published by the Belfer Center at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, “contrary to what most people believe, oil supply capacity is growing worldwide at such an unprecedented level that it might outpace consumption.” […] Four countries will lead the coming oil boom: Iraq, the United States, Canada and Brazil.
—
America’s energy revolution is underway. Proven oil reserves have been steadily rising for years, and increased production of shale gas is projected to create tens of thousands of new manufacturing jobs in the years ahead.
We're in the Age of Oil, Raddy, and that time is limited! We can only pray that when energy costs get so low that we can't afford not to ship anymore, that we might still get some of these LOCAL businesses re-established!

Crid: do you believe that oil is really being generated?
That would explain your problem. You think natural resources are unlimited and inexhaustible.
Or, you're just being an ass. There is considerable reason to select either position.
That citation of yours is surely good news. Go buy your turbo diesel dually before there's a rush.

Well, my distressed little correspondent, did you read me saying that somewhere? Can you offer a direct quote? Or are you putting words in italic to feign citation for the inattentive?
While the natural processes which produced the petroleum we've enjoyed are indisputably still at work on younger hydrocarbons, the more profound and practical point concerns the rewarding processes of civilization:
Oil reserves are the quantities of crude oil estimated to be commercially recoverable by application of development projects to known accumulations from a given date forward under defined conditions.
Hydrocarbons are not being cooked and squeezed nearly fast enough to keep up with our needs. But nobody cares, because reserves are being generated. The identification, extraction and pricing of this stuff is a work of man, not nature.... and human cleverness is infinitely renewable. Economics makes it happen, not an idiot, stingy, thermodynamically-oversimplistic God.
> There is considerable reason to select
> either position.
Preposterous.
Unless, you mean, that someone might happen to have chosen a career in the nuke business. Then, sure, there'd be a reason to do some 'consideration'.
No excuse for lying, though.

"Crid: do you believe that oil is really being generated?"
I'm not Crid, but I did stay at a hotel once.
I fondly (not how I felt at the time) remember getting up early (very) in the morning, on my government approved day, sitting in my 1959 Porsche Cabriolet with a quart thermos of coffee and my Wall Street Journal, in line (long) at a gas station in Playa del Rey to get my allowance of gas. Pres. Jimmah and other experts said we were out of oil.
Radwaste, that was over 40 years ago. So is oil limited? Not sure. I wouldn't doubt if someday they find out it is being generated. Even if not, show me the genius that knows how much there is. We have had a long list of idiots being stupid for a long time (George Carlin use of loooong) claiming they know. Maybe we will run out of air and water before we run out of oil. Isn't that possible too.
P.S. - still own the Porsche, plus a big diesel GMC 2500 and a 8 cyl Buick. Told my kids I was going to use all the gas up in my lifetime. Ain't gonna happen.
