TSA: LAX Airport Workers' Sexparts Go Ungroped
At LAX, when we were leaving for Paris, my boyfriend Gregg saw the TSA letting airport workers through the metal detector ungroped and unscanned. "What happened was, I was next to the 'toaster oven' and the mag detector, and four people were let through the mag detector," Gregg, who was selected for the scanning/government-inflicted ball-grope, told me.
Gregg said to the TSA guy, "Why do they get to go through there?" (Meaning, they didn't have to go through the scanner or get groped; they just got to go through the metal detector.)
The TSA guy said to Gregg, "Because they work here."
Right. And the low-wage worker serving your fries could never be bribed to smuggle something into the airport.
Of course, as somebody pointed out in my blog comments, terrorists are not attacking malls or buses, and that isn't because everybody going into the mall bends over so a mall cop can see they don't have a bomb up their booty.
It is possible somebody will blow up a plane at some point -- or blow up the sheeple standing in line waiting to politely give up their Fourth Amendment right not to be searched without reasonable suspicion they've committed or about to commit a crime.
It is likely, if we give over our rights for "security," that we will neither have security nor rights before long.

"And the low-wage worker serving your fries could never be bribed to smuggle something into the airport."
It wouldn't matter to the TSA employee if an airport worker was smuggling something in, since security isn't his reason for being there.

Thank you so much for sharing!! When I flew back to LAX by way of Seattle, the goons at TSA confiscated my toothpaste, but not my mace...

TSA is not about safety but desensitizing Americans to search and seizure! Please keep making your voice heard!!

Well my sister thinks the flights that hit the WTC towers were because of apathy and the early morning flights, not because of the paradigm shift. We had a discussion about it just the other day and she sees nothing wrong with the TSA.
Read my blog entry for details.
It's scary what passes for sheep these days. There are some unarmed sheepdogs out there, like Marc Randazza.
My sister rejects the notion that an armed person can look beyond the gun and still hope for a bright outcome. The possession of a gun makes you a neanderthal. She didn't quite say it, but that was the feeling I got from my visit.

The attacks of 9/11 were perpetrated by people of a single ethnicity and religion, and a very large number of people of that same ethnicity and religion work in airports around the country. Flying into and out of Philadelphia recently, I couldn't help but notice that every woman working in food and janitorial services was wearing the hijab. Of course, in the interest of fairness we must acknowledge that it's just as likely that Amy or Gregg is going to blow up a plane as it is that a Muslim airport employee will take advantage of lax employee screening to smuggle something to someone s/he knows once past security.

There's no search in malls and bus stops because the Powers That Be don't care if the Little People are murdered. No important folks will be present anyway.
A plane, however, can be dropped on important people. It's therefore critical to secure them, even if it's an inconvenience for the Little People.

Hey, "Knowing": where's your rebuttal to this report from an actual airport?
Ever visited one?

No airport employees should be going thru a metal detector. That's why they have SIDA badges.

That makes me feel feel real secure:

"No airport employees should be going thru a metal detector. That's why they have SIDA badges."
This is a great example of how people cannot think about this issue coherently.
A badge does not keep you from committing a crime.
I have a higher security clearance than most people found at airports. It does not matter to the TSA, simply because they are not in the security business.
