Quite simply, they are felons who flaunt their status as defying the law - while expecting other laws to protect them.
How far do you want to go on this line?
It's fallacious to claim weed is the cause of murder, but there are few saints selling it.

A member of my family has owned a gun for probably 40-some years and has never murdered anyone. This is because he is not a murderer.

When a hiker is killed after he stumbles on a guarded pot grow, is it fallacious to say that weed caused the murder?
How about the south-of-the-border variety of drug trade killing?

People do not make Jack Daniel's in secret -- although I bet they did when it was illegal. A friend of mine's grandfather, owner of Detroit's first black funeral home, used to smuggle hooch across the Ambassador Bridge (between Detroit and Canada) during Prohibition. Now, you just carry the stuff in your trunk. Pot should be the same.

Legalized drugs and alcohol cause crime too. The "it's just a plant" motto is childish.
Alcohol-related crime is greater now than when it was illegal.

Ummm, yeah.
Weed didn't cause the hikers murder. The growers did.
The growers killed him because they make alot of money selling an illegal drug. If the drug were legal, as it in this case should be, they wouldn't be killing people to cover up selling an illegal drug.
So, by your own logic, weed didn't kill the hiker, the government did.
