It is a testament to Stephen Sondheim's genius that he could write a song that a non-singer could successfully pull off. He wrote "Send In The Clowns" for Glynis Johns, who had never sung on stage (and as it turns out, can't sing).

Yet somehow, her want of singing talent actually works in her favor when performing this song.
